I'm equally happy about that!
But it's pretty much exactly the anniversary of me trying to defend Lennard's addition to the 2018 MG DB against a lot of people who (rightfully, I'll admit that) were uncertain whether he'd even continue his career after his lenghty break from cycling last year...so this is redemption.

Thomas said he had legs but didn’t want to chase Bernal. |

Bernal was riding super defensively btw, no pulls and asked even Buchmann to lead. Ineos tactic, blown up or just anotherNairo?

Lol I would also give my opponents a major confidence boost freely by dropping hard.
15 seconds till reckoning!

Yeah, I thought the same. He did recover from the initial break but mostly due to setting own pace. We’ll see.
Valverde though, top-10, this year a bit underwhelming but still lovely to see his name among the best. And don’t count Landa out yet. |

Lets see, I hope Movistar continue this full racing approach in the Alps and dont just go for stage wins eventually.

Wow wow wow this is the best TDF in ages! Great stage, awesome to see Pinot as the strongest, really hope he can do this, loved Bucann being so strong, and you really just have no idea who will win, I can’t remember thinking that by this point since 2011! Kamna wow, if I had to guess the top two breakaway riders today he wouldn’t have even crossed my mind but lovely to see! Valverde being strong makes me even more annoyed he had to work for Quintana. Valiant from Ala, what a rider and really liked his interview (same as ever), but sadly he can’t do it. Still really interesting to have him there and who knows what he can still do in the GC fight. Bring on the Alps!
Also the commentators won’t shut up about how Simon Yates is going to win the Vuelta now, surely he isn’t going?
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Mitchelton should give Haig and Chaves leadership in La Vuelta... |

I really wouldn't count out Alaphilippe just yet. He has couple of days to recover now. Maybe that will be enough for him to regain some strength and to hold on to the lead

The Expected Kvaterfinalists:
France with a strong team but will they have to switch captain?
England looking good so far but might be on downward spiral although they got a late lucky goal today.
Belgi stady stady performance, not the most beautiful play but always nice results.
The always so hyped Colombians.."who will be the first to score" story, clearly this time the young striker without doubt, but will it be enough.
Outsiders:
Its been 20 years and now it seems Germany might be back ?
Spain has a long tradition but this time it seem like they was not ready, but with resent result wouldent write them off.
Denmark was strong in the qualifiers - but regrettably it not looking to good lately.

It's all about Pinot vs. Ineos now, and Landa vs. Buchmann vs. Kruijswijk for 3rd. Ineos soon has to make a decision it seems, but it doesn't seem like Bernal would be improving his form, so maybe he'll be sacrificed for Thomas after the rest day

Very nice stage and the race is still unpredictable. Some top 10 riders may still outperform to win time (like Pinot and Landa did).
Here are some photos taken at mid race:
Julian still in the peloton with the Ineos team just behind.
Tim Wellens not in good shape, last in this group behind the pack, but supported by his team mates.
