Wake me up when the nightmare is over!
Stage 2 was poor in terms of WCC sprint 'performance', but the debacle of stage 3 then no show stage 4 now condems this to a disaster outing for JAC, as these first 3 relatively simple sprint stages were his big target to challenge for podiums, maybe even a stage win and at very least rack up good haul of points towards the green jersey.
Reality: Nada.
To compound the pain and suffering our direct PCT rivals in the race to avoid relegation are having a field day! (congrats). Things need to make a very significant turn to the upside very quickly otherwise I may need to up the prescription meds to remain calm

Well the TT went about as well as we could hope for. Eastman with a reasonable lead on all his rivals, hopefully takes yellow tomorrow and holds it the rest of the tour.

Nice to see Meyer having some big success after some ups and downs with Reddit Also, I feel like I’m missing a deliberate joke but you got your Yates mixed up Marco

Kraftwerk riders Irvine and former race leader Shushemoin putting in good performances and we got a rider in the break which is vital as we have no GC ambitions.
Thanks Marco for the super pace.

Great early showing by the Rothaus riders.
But missing the stage win still. From now on should be more a breakaway event for me and couple of riders should be able to do decent there. |

Seeing Haller tear it up like this somewhat makes me regret not going to race ToA and having Boivin go there :/

Good start this, considering we don't have anyone here who is actually a competitive sprinter. Stage win and two 3rd places in the TTs from Atkins is very welcome, hoping Yates can take another mountain stage tomorrow as the best all round climber in the race. And once sprinters start finishing OTL then Tharuka and Silva should sweep up minor points there - Yates even might as well |

Yeah, I'm good with this so far.
Tzortzakis over-performing and in 2nd in the GC is great.
Valls doing consistently fine and 2nd placed in the GC among the climbers is a sign he's in decent shape.
Mektel Eyob 2nd in the young riders classification.
We're not cleaning up like Dave or jph (congrats both, btw), but not doing too shabbily either. Need to stay consistent, just like Marco with the excellent reports.

Kraftwerk's leadout train is doing a fantastic job and Haller is in super form, 3 stage wins is beyond my wildest dreams. Hope Haller can survive the mountains!
Thanks for the great reports Marco

Team did the job today, Eastman kept up front all race long and in a spot to simply defend his lead. Not happy with giving up that much time to Suaza but a hilly stage tomorrow should surprisingly be useful for Eastman against Suaza.

Now we're speaking! Suaza right back in it and closing in on the GC-lead, this is gonna be a thrilling battle to the end I hope |

Quite happy with that, considering how such a straightforward summit finish could have ended for Yates with his inferior MO. Suaza doesn't worry me, as he'll explode on the hills at some point, but Eastman is the main competition now - all told I reckon Yates will need to find 2-3 mins on him over the remainder of the race to win. |
