I want a 20 year old winning Paris-Roubaix, but I do feel that's a bit unrealistic. It's up to oughtsyou how good our riders are going to be, so I echo Ripley thoughts. But I do feel that the development rate is a bit slow if they should become stars one day. Or maybe it dependes on rider type, as I see climbers are further ahead compared to classics riders.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I absolutely agree...there is no chance of creating hybrids, which makes it impossible to do be creative in terms of development - maybe give a certain amount of primary, secondary and tertiary stats or something like this in the next season

Think so too, since there are so few stats all of it flows into main stats, which is going to be dull in the long run imo

Agree with all of the above. Pfft I wanted to improve more stats in a balanced way, but not forgetting to develop the main abilities of my rider. I think next season we could discuss how to stretch points available to distribute the stats.

I know these cases are not frequent, but at the age of 20, guys like Bernal or Pogacar, were, and are, amongst the older pros on the upper level of GC and stages. Pfft So it wouldn’t be so unrealistic to have our riders fighting for wins, maybe not that much, depending on our good sense. Smile

Honestly, an issue is just that our pros do jack shit nothing in races so there is nothing to write about and no one to cheer on. Them not being favourites for another 4 seaosns i completely fine but as soon as they are competitive, following the races will be much more entertaining.

Thanks for all the feedback guys Smile

Slowness of development is a pertinent issue especially with non climbers and punchers, given the way I've designed the progression. I sort of modeled it on those examples of Bernal and Pogacar who seem to be challenging at the top at a much younger age than classics specialists. But then that is not fair on those who chose the latter specializations.

What I'm also looking at, for the moment, is giving everyone 2 more GP at the start of next season, thereby shifting the GP range upward from 7-12 to 9-14, and then perhaps divide them so as to have quotas for primary, secondary and tertiary stats, as has been suggested.

Would be open to suggestions going ahead.

Update on the stat updates, have received 10 PMs so far. Keep them coming. The race selection file will also be made available soon.

Sign-ups will close on 31st May.

It was clear to me from the start that we'd be in it for the long haul and wouldn't see much of our riders at first. And to me that's better than starting with a Bernal skillset, it'd be boring to be too good too soon. Maybe we should have started with 24, 25 year olds, a la Roglic or Michael Woods. But I can wait for Alunderis to get there, as long as Abhishek is happy to run the game even if we can't give too much feedback yet.

I’ve tested the current system and they will grow into total stars still. Agree on points about limits of hybrid riders and more flexibility to allow creativity. But I am not complaining about progression rates, if you keep up the pace of the back half of last year we’ll be seeing our riders very soon and then we can enjoy a little more detail Smile Thanks Abhi, will get this done soon!

No need to wait till the sign-ups close. Rider development file is already available here. Please send in your rider's development.

Will share the calendar selection sheet very soon.

Ohh sorry - did already sent it just forgot

Still waiting for Career Progression PMs for 7 riders. Please send them in. No name and shame yet Pfft

The calendar selection file will be shared later today.

Sign-ups close this Friday, 31st May.

It is now time to share the Race Selection file. This is the last piece of input you need to give for your riders to be ready for the 2018 season.

Race Selection
Link: https://www.dropb....xlsx?dl=0

- Download the file from the above location.
- Enter your rider's ID in cell I2 in 'Calendar' sheet. All cells marked #N/A will be populated. Please check if the populated details are correct. All riders are less than 24 years old and should have 60 RDs available.
- You can look up your rider's ID in 'Custom Riders DB' sheet. The stats in this sheet do not have the development included.
- Select the number of training blocks you want your rider to attend and enter a value between 1 and 3 in cell M2 (this is not mandatory). Each training block costs 5 RDs but gives guaranteed points as specified in the Points file. A maximum of 15 RDs can be spent on training.
- Clashing races are marked with letters 'A' through 'I' in column E. The races which clash with each other have the same letter against them.
- Enter '1' in cells F2-F45 for the races you want to participate in.
- Cell I10 will tell you the number of RDs you have remaining. It will turn red if you enter more races than your RDs allow. It has to be zero or a positive number.
- Once you are satisfied, copy cells C2-F45 and send them to me in a table via PM. Also send me the value in cell M2 (number of training blocks).

As always, please feel free to ask in case of doubts or clarifications either here or via PM.

No deadlines for this at the moment, but the earlier I get them, the earlier I can start making startlists Wink

Mulopeza
Hey! It's pretty close to the deadline, but I would still like to start my Road To Glory.

Here's the info on my rider:

• Name: Andés Munoz Lopez
• Nationality: Spanish
• Specialization: Stage Racer
• Favourite Team: Movistar Team
• Career Goal: Grand tour (Gira/TDF/Vuelta) stage win
• Height: 1,65 m (= 5 foot 5)
• Weight: 59 kg (= 130lbs)

Andés Munoz Lopez, nicknamed Mulopeza, is a young upcoming spanish talent. He has always been a huge fan of the cycling sport, mainly following riders who hail from his home area Basque Country. His greatest idols include legendary Basque riders such as Iban Mayo, Haimar Zubeldia, but also basque riders who are still active such as Mikel Landa.

As a kid, his dream has always been winning La Vuelta Ciclista a España. The biggest race in his home country, and one of the grand tours. Now that he's ready to make the move into pro cycling, his old dream has been pushed to the back of his mind. To make it there, he realises it's not enough to be a dreamer. You have to be a realist... a winner... The first step is to prove he is worthy of becoming a pro cyclist. A first podium in a pro race. A first victory. And his goal: a victory in a Grand Tour stage. Who knows what the future holds for this young talent.

(I initially put "Climber" as specialty but changed it to Stage Racer, assuming you hadn't seen this yet. If you already started adding him as a Climber that's fine too)
