VdP is 100% going to be rider for World Tour team but which one - honestly I don't want him in the WT triangle of doom (Ineos, Bahrain and UAE)
reading an interview with Adrie VdP saterday, I got the feeling that it's more likely that he'll get to the world tour by his current team getting world tour status rather than a team switch

I think Canyon plays a big part in MVDP sticking with Correndon - Circus |

It can't be too had to find a dutch co-sponsor with a rider like Mathieu, that should fix the budget. Next they need a few riders, take a few riders from Topsport, Roompot, Wanty and Cofidis to make up numbers and then they need a stage racer (unfortunately guys like Kelderman and Oomen won't be available next year, but they can make it at 2 year project. Maybe Poels will be available though) and a sprinter (Dupont should be available but better find a better foreigner as well).
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Tbh I believe AGR's dramatic finale only happened because of Strade Bianche's shenanigans, Had that race not taken place Fuglsang and Alaphilippe wouldn't have jeopardized their chances.
Also, the uphill anaerobic slugfest through the Muur de Huy is tomorrow. Alaphilippe starts as the uncontested favourite, but given his recent letdowns and its mental consequences we could see one of the most open FWs of recent years.

35km to go Dan Martin apparently out the back and Ion Izagirre crash - a who's who of my risky, desperate Velogames team...

Break caught just in time for a new one of about 20 riders to go clear. Diego Ulissi, Max Schachmann, Slagter, Mas and others involved.

Teuns, Schachmann, Ulissi, Wellens, Lambrecht, Mas, G. Izagirre... could become very interesting with Movistar basically working behind but also Bora with 2 helpers in the first group. |

Back together again now, but the wind has been having some fun thinning the groups out of the weaker riders.

Time for Jelle Vanendert to show his face for the second time of the whole season.

Victory for Julian Alaphillipe! Fuglsang nets second place with Diego Ulissi coming home in third.
Closed the door on Fuglsang in the "sprint" there to make sure he couldn't come past though.

That was quite unfair by Alaphilipe, cutting outside just before the finish line. |

"Julian Alaphilippe has won every one-day race he’s started this year except for the ones where Mathieu van der Poel was also riding, which were all won by Mathieu van der Poel" @CyclingAlmanack
