The sponsor needs us to get top-10. Stocklasa is in great condition and will be our best bet for this one.

Leader: Stocklasa
Free: Rieder, Häberli, Pilone
Helper: Del Rio, Cervigni, Aegether

i.imgur.com/khHz02D.jpg

Häberli joins the break today. Not really the strongest riders he's accompanied with. 3 more riders come up. Including little brother Nibali and Beppu.

i.imgur.com/QSFnzPf.jpg

The break quickly gets caught and the race is ridden in a hectic pace. After the final serious climb a group of 11 has emerged as front-runners for the race. Two of them are ours. Stocklasa and Rieder. Stocklasa barely managed to hold on as he tried to get away on the climb.

i.imgur.com/G3e2Rx6.jpg

Bilbao gets away in the end and wins the race. Stocklasa gets 7th!

OBJECTIVE COMPLETED

Stocklasa tried and tried and it cost him in the final sprint. He still got within the goal and we're on to our next big objective in July.

Recruiting priorities

With the success the team has had this year we're attempting to renew with all our current riders. If we do not manage to renew we'll need to go for some starpower.

Our recruiting focus will be Italians and what we'd like for the new season:

3-4 Talented youngsters
2-3 Italian riders with potential to win the odd stage/race here and there

JULY SUMMARY

We entered 4 races and had no notable result this month. So a short review and I'm off to the transfer Extravaganza!

In the standings the team is 7th and Stocklasa is still our best rider at 33.

TRANSFER EXTRAVAGANZA 2018!

The transfer market has been open for a month and several riders have found their new team. We've signed 5 new riders. 4 Neo-pros and a single pro. We have also renewed with all of our riders for the new season.

Although we would have liked more local riders, we've been unable to find talent in which we really believed in. Let's hope to for more succes in the future.

New riders:

Alex Turrin - Sprinter - 26

From Willier Triestina we've signed Veneto native Alex Turrin. He's had a miserable season and looks for redemption on our team next year. Important for our sponsors with a rider from Veneto

Pep Cadenas - Stage Racer - 19

A strong time trialer and a decent climber. Our scouts like him a lot and he could become vital in our bid to become a WT team.

Theo Kojic - Time Trialer - 20

Our scouts think this guy is one of the most talented around. Very good time trialer and decent climbing. Will he succeed overseas at such a young age?

Peyisai Panyangara - Stage Racer - 20

A bit of a lottery coupon. Might be become decent. Might not. Has been performing good on the african scene. His competition weren't the best. We tested him and his numbers looked good.

Vadim Priganiuk - Stage Racer - 22

Ciaramellas enemy number 1 from his junior days. After burying the hatchet has become his new team member. 'Priga' is a consistent talented rider which have had difficulty adjusting to U23 level. He's got talent though

What's next?

I'm still considering signing 1 or 2 more Italian riders. At the moment we have 18 riders and I believe we're on our way to secure a Pro-Conti status.

We've signed new equipment sponsors as well. We'll be riding Bianchi frames and Campagnolo wheels.

SUMMARY

A quiet ending of the year. Rankings and results next!

Vuelta a San Juan International

Outlook:

Sponsor goal: Top-5

First race of the season and first sponsorship goal as well. We've assigned this race to Colavetta and have a solid group of riders with him. This will be the first time we're seeing Cadenas in action in a pro peloton.

Leader: Colavetta
Free: Cadenas, Del Rio
Helpers: Stocklasa, Ciaramella, Covili

Stage 1

Flat as a pancake. We don't have riders to make our presence known on the flat so we're rushing through these. Adam Blythe wins the stage in front of McLay and Degenkolb.

Stage 2

i.imgur.com/RQ6Q4cX.jpg

One of two challenging stages besides the time trial. We'll try getting Cadenas or Del Rio into the break. The peloton is really strong and the favourites for today are Valgren, Uran and Meintjes. But we hope Colavetta hit his early season form :-)

i.imgur.com/HUDxUU1.jpg

That's a Castelli winner... Although an unlikely one. It's Stocklasa. He was supposed to lead-out Colavetta but proved too strong. It's a stage victory for Castelli! Not a single break managed to get away today.

Stage 3

i.imgur.com/7uMyjMf.jpg

A short TT. There's some great tempomen in the peloton. Lampaert, Terpstra and Van Garderen. All capable of smashing it for a short TT. Our best bet is Colavetta and Ciaramella. Terpstra will be first on the route and that will give us a time to aim at.

i.imgur.com/2G2RHwv.jpg

The first Castelli rider has crossed the line. It's one of our hopes for today Ciaramella. Unfortunately he's 7 seconds behind Terpstra. Shortly after Rosskopf sets a new best time. 10 seconds faster than Terpstra.

i.imgur.com/xmNGL1S.jpg

In the end. Tejay Van Garderen takes the stage. He was sublime today!

Stage 4

Another flat stage. Another sprint finish. This time Coquard takes the win.

Stage 5

i.imgur.com/bVAA5LG.jpg

The queen stage of the race. If we want to fulfill the objective we need to be at the front today. We'll try sending Cadenas into the break to collect Mountain points as he is currently wearing the jersey. Colavetta and Del Rio will try from the bottom of the final climb. Uran, Meintjes and Bernal are todays favourites.

i.imgur.com/yPuvy6Y.jpg

Cadenas wasn't allowed to part from the peloton. Del Rio joins the break instead. Bard is quickly dropped and Del Rio, Steels and Ladagnous are todays break.

i.imgur.com/RB9NOeP.jpg

With 60 km to go the peloton catches the break. I guess it's gonna be a finish among the favourites.

i.imgur.com/UXv3qEo.jpg

Uran breaks away with a couple og km from the top. Colavetta tries to follow him but hasn't got the power. He still end up in a very respectable 7th place... And where will he be in the GC?!

i.imgur.com/y1XZyE0.jpg

7th as well.. His chances are limited in the following stages. He did well though. I can live with 7th in this field.

Stage 6 & 7

Hodeg and Degenkolb wins one each. Cadenas holds on to the mountain jersey. A succes? Yes! According to the sponsors... No :-(

Nice to see Stocklasa grab a stage win Wink, and Cadenas bring home the mountains jersey Smile

A jersey win in his first pro race for Cadenas!

A mountanious profile. We have a strong team, but there's some good riders participating in the race. We'll go with Colavetta and Cadenas.

Leader: Cadenas
Free: Colavetta, Ciaramella
Helpers: Del Rio, Stocklasa, Aegether, Covili

i.imgur.com/tns3otd.jpg

Breakaway specialist Del Rio has joined todays break. Colavetta is feeling good so far. Might have to gamble on him today!

i.imgur.com/fICM23r.jpg

Colavetta attacked on the big climb but ran out of juice. There's 15 in the front group. Colavetta is relaxing. He's got Del Rio coming up. Del Rio has a nice finish in a reduced sprint. That should get us the top-10 result we need. Hopefully.

i.imgur.com/ErraDuz.jpg

Ciaramella -> Cadenas -> Colavetta -> Del Rio... Go go go...

i.imgur.com/1Pr2Z2y.jpg

Del Rio runs out of power in the steep ending hill. Luckily Colavetta had great legs. He's running out of juice but manage to hold on to 3rd. Rojas takes the win!

Colavetta has been on fire this early season.

Muggert
Trofeo Laigueglia

i.imgur.com/3pmFM6o.jpg

Another sponsor objective. Del Rio ended up 10th yesterday in a mountain finish. Today it's more his terrain. We'll go for him today. Colavetta, Cadenas and Stocklasa will be our backups.

Leader: Del Rio
Free: Colavetta, Cadenas, Stocklasa
Helpers: Aegether, Ciaramella, Covili

i.imgur.com/IUzeQ9R.jpg

Stocklasa is in todays break. Wtih Sagan in the peloton we do not expect it to reach the finish.

i.imgur.com/XlaXXlg.jpg

Del Rio and Cadenas went all out to help Colavetta. He's attacking with 10 km to go. He's joined by Van Avermaet, Sagan, Uran and Spilak.

i.imgur.com/ezAuB2F.jpg

1 km to go. This group is gonna decide it. We got our top-10 but Colavetta has absolutely no energy left! He finishes last in the group. Sagan finishes like a boss and wins by several bike lengths. Cadena are sprinting for 9th in the main bunch but is overtaken in the final meters and end up 11th

February Update

Etoille de Besseges

Colavetta wins stage 4 and 5 and takes the overall GC. A great win for

Tour du Haut var-matin

A sponsor goal and Colavetta once again proves he's a great rider. 7th overall after a 8th and 13th finish. The first stage where he was 8th he was without all of his teammates which crashed.

FEBRUARY SUMMARY

An incredible month for Colavetta! 3 sponsor objectives completed. Even though he only targeted one of them. He was our top rider last year and he was supposed to have a lesser role this year. Not gonna happen! Instead he's leading the continental individually!
