Skipped 2017 and bought 2018. Hardly ever buy before the real life TdF but something told me to do it. Glad I did.
Only played a couple stages and so far realistic results across the board. No Froome charging away up mountains winning by 5 minutes so that's a plus.
Really enjoying Pro Cyclist mode, never tried it before but it is a fresh game mode and a lot of fun just controlling 1 rider. |

Is there still problem with the sponsor budget in season 2 after the new patch 1.0.2.2? Or is it possible to start a career without any problem? |

They did say that was fixed in the patch notes. |

What kind of a bug was that, and do you think the patch would fix already started careers?

I ride the Tour with BMC, and all mountainstage ended with a breakway win
Other where it is the same or is it just random? |

I have a mix, but it's much more realistic, in PCM the favorites (=Froome) would win most of the mountain stages, IRL it's not often that a GC favorite wins the mountain stage. So I really like this kind of behaviour, it also makes for a more realistic mountain and point ranking |

In PCM 17 when I was at the start of the mountains, there came a graphics about the mountain facts. In PCM 18 there come not a graphics up at the big mountains in Grand Tours, but in Ronde van Vlaandern, Paris-Roubaix and Liege there are... |

Just finished my first TdF. I am playing with the PCM.Daily DB and stats. Really crazy race. The cobbles were complete carnage and all other GC favs lost more than 3 mins to Dumoulin.
On Stage 12 to Alpe D´Huez Felline did a Voeckler and got the yellow jersey.
Somehow i managed to keep it and win the Tour. Really crazy, never had something like this in PCM before (17,16,15). Of course he was in form and had +4 or +5 everyday.

If you are wondering, i am playing "hard" and it was in the first season. I created a custom team. |

Just completed TDU playing as Astana in Career mode and started without high hopes. Had Moser as GC leader, aiming for top 10 or so and put him and a few helpers on very high starting shape to get a chance, as i thought it would be (extremely) hard on extreme difficulty.
It turned out as 1-2 in GC for me. On the first stages I sent Yevgeniy Gidich(FL73, MO72, HI70, RES75) in the breakaway in order to go for KOM. He earned a few boni seconds along the way and was able to hold on really well on the difficult 4th and 5th stage to Willunga. Moser won 4th stage in a downhill sprint and managed to hold on to 2nd in the GC.
Do you think that this is a single extreme case, or is it simply because zero of the favourites were in decent shape, and that I shouldn't have mine either. I mean, Valverde, Alaphilippe, Thomas, Wellens and so on should be able to beat Gidich by a lot. My riders' shape are in the low 90's. I even managed to get Gatto in 10th place in GC as well - so a single race's results is enough for me to be happy this season.
Final GC:
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Yevgeniy Gidich | Astana Pro Team | 19h35'48 | 2 | Moreno Moser | Astana Pro Team | + 1 | 3 | Matteo Trentin | Michelton - Scott | s.t. | 4 | Tejay Van Garderen | BMC Racing Team | + 7 | 5 | Geraint Thomas | Team Sky | + 11 | 6 | Enrico Gasparotto | Bahrain - Merida | s.t. | 7 | Tim Wellens | Lotto Soudal | s.t. | 8 | Bauke Mollema | Trek - Segafredo | s.t. | 9 | Marcel Kittel | Team Katusha Alpecin | + 17 | 10 | Oscar Gatto | Astana Pro Team | + 32 | 11 | Giacomo Nizzolo | Trek - Segafredo | + 47 | 12 | Jens Keukeleire | Lotto Soudal | + 53 | 13 | Grega Bole | Bahrain - Merida | + 1'47 | 14 | Alejandro Valverde | Movistar Team | + 2'18 | 15 | Michael Woods | Team EF Education First - Drapac p/b Cannondale | + 2'40 |

The early 1-2 months are always very easy even on high difficulty. PCM fitness system not working as in real life with winter training or on the Aussie case, summer training and hence superior home rider form.
Normally changes in late February/March where extreme is a nice play imo. |

I just thought the change of a possible high pre-season shape would change that. |

I am seeing that game has 37% positive reviews on Steam, lol
Not touching it one more year...
Steam reviews are not a serious way to determine weather this game is good or not, in my opinion ofc. |

How is the HILL and COB stat in this game?
Does hill finally works again? Hows the Ardennes classic experience? EDIT I got tired of LBL and Amstel ending in a 20 group every time.
Is every cobble classic ending in a 10-15 mass sprint or can you finally eliminate riders like Demare and Viviani?
What annoys me in PCM 17 is the unrealistic classics

They work as intended, although I'm not sure that I use the right strategy for them. But most of the time the groups are either small or a rider wins solo, like Alaphilippe in the Ardennes Classic likes to do.
The only problem is the cooperation in groups with the favourites, which can be a bit lacking, although it is more annoying in GTs. For example I had the case where I was alone with another rider, he was third in GC and I was first, but he refused to work with me. |

Ok so I decided to buy the game yesterday.
The classics experience is so much better than last versions (16/17). Favourites eliminating each other. Attacks and realistic groups. No bigger groups and mass sprints in finals. Nice! But I + you in the strategic aspect. The co-operation between breakaways in the finals are non existent. Only for a few KM and then they're unwilling to co-operate.
What I like about mountain stages was the realistic time difference. Even though the favourites wasn't too aggressive it still ended up being a great elimination race. They fixed the "Same time" issue aswell.
I still need to try out the Ardennes classics. Looking forward to it!!
