Congratulations LaChouffe, great placing overall!
I was hoping to get a little bit of breathing room in the ToB but a late push by Ember on the GC placings and another race with low sprint scorers, much like Binck Bank, though not as bad, put paid to that!
Vuelta is touch and go for me, though I've been rising from outside the top 25 I don't have a great team. Autumn classics saw me remove Colbrelli for Montreal just before he finally showed some form - genius
Think I will be trailing after Spain the way the GC is shaping up. Ember has been consistently excellent for a long time now.

This should whatever outcome be a fun end to the season, seeing how close it is. Seeing none of us in the top 4 are doing a great Vuelta, it looks likely to come down to the Autumn Classics, where anything can happen, really, seeing how close it is in the league there.
Must say I'm happy to be this close to the others in the running after that hopeless start in the classics, but I'm not sure at all I'll make it through with a team I'm confident in for all the remaining races. That's a worry
The Vuelta is also rather close. For my team, it looks kind of promising compared to the other three, but I'll need Kelderman to step up again and go chase a stage win or two now that he's out of GC contention. Hopefully he's up for it, as a DNF could be critical |

Great competition this year for the neutrals (I.e. those of us who cannot make the top 25 )
However I am in danger of “troubling the scorers” in the “Spain” event, first time I have had a team where everyone has scored some decent points

My top 25 hopes have been killed by Dan Martin. Yates, Lopez, Kelderman and Kruiswick (however you spell it ) and Viviani have all done well. An extra rider scoring 300/400 points could have been the difference.
What happened to Martin? Did he actually start the race? He has 0 points.

He left Vuelta in order to be with his wife since twins were born to them.
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

I somehow kicked out Valverde before the Vuelta for no reason and not sure I did it on purpose...not sure what I thought back then or for what rider I accidentally dropped him.
Lopez is okay and Yates obviously was a great pick.
Other than that only happy with Sagan and okay with 14 points Kelderman.
Bennett at 10 was not the best pick as I expected him to be Lotto`s strongest instead of Kruijswijk. Benoot unfortunately as anonymous as De Gendt, who surely is tired of a long and exhausting season. Was hoping for some big attacks by those. |

On one hand fair enough i guess . On the other hand why start the bloody race in the first place!!!

Trentin my biggest waste, but most annoyed at not picking Mas - he did well for me in an earlier race, but felt 10 was too high for him, joining many others with Bennett on that price instead.
Still, 2nd in the league is great at this stage, but Squire looks best placed of the teams currently up there.

De Gendt is 2nd in the KoM, and with Mate struggling, I'm hoping he can move up.

I need a strong last week in the Mountains from Lopez, Quintana, Buchmann and Kelderman. If Sagan and Viviani could finish top 2 in the last 2 sprint stages, it would be very welcome too. I'm slowly dropping down the rankings after being 5th-6th for most of the time, I'm now 17th. |

Ouch. Shows that I haven`t been able to watch a single second of the Vuelta yet.
Totally missed this and only have seen, he has not a lot of points yet due to no stage results despite quite some breakaway luck so far by the look of it.
Then I haven`t said anything and he does exactly what I wanted him to do. |

I haven't watched any of the Vuelta to date. Been keeping an eye on the results through Velogames and here but haven't seen a single stage yet.

Thanks to everyone for the congratulatory messages. I've been playing just about every PCM - VG competition since maybe 2010 and this is my first ever win. I just wish I could re-distribute those ToB points to my woeful vuelta team. I don't even have any last minute roster changes I can point to saying that I could have done this or that. It was just bad instinct all around this year.

Congratulations to Squire on the Vuelta win!
Ember hits the front in the last 100m, doubt I have a second kick but either way it's been a great competition again. Apt that it will be decided by the inaugural Autumn Classics game with the World's and Lombardia to the fore.

League Table Updated.
Congrats to Squire on his win.
As Ian says, ember takes over the overall lead by 1 point with only the Autumn Classics to play for. The big loser in Spain was Lord di Lego who scored 0 points and fell about 30 points behind Freitas in the race for 3rd.
Still a long way to go in the competition with the overall winner not known until mid-October.
As it currently stands Ian is 13th and Ember 16th in the Autumn Classics Race. It's going to go down to the wire

Congratulations Squire on the Vuelta win! Being the only PCM Daily guy above 8000 points made it look comfortable, eventhough Jotace and Emre came close.
For the Daily league, Pinot's brilliant third week saw Ian gain a lot of ground, and thus it got very close in the end. I have to disagree with him regarding the autumn classics game. It feels like he's in the driver's seat now, as he has a healthy 80 points lead there and as many transfers as me, and you could also argue his Montréal team looks better for what's left of the season compared to mine. Definitely think I would have needed a bigger gap between us in the Vuelta to win the overall too, seeing the standings in the classics game. Though, of course I'll try, that's the least I can do
Edit: Annoying spelling.

Congratulations to Squire for his win.
It’s anyone’s game now, luck will choose either ember’s or Ian’s side as I think the Italian classics are nowhere near as predictable as the Ardennes (and even those have room for surprises!). Will be fun watching your battle. Hopefuly I can hold onto that third spot, was nice to finish inside the top-15 in Spain after being out of the top-20 with three stages remaining. |
