@CDrake. Looks good again! Are you playing the stages yourself? You go so quick Wink. You have a great and fun looking team to ride with! Some good contenders and bunch of nice helpers!

How is s.yates and chaves in your save?

Right now I am in the Giro. Suprinsingly won the Eschborn-Frankfurt WT with Mezgec...Didnt had the greatest results in the hill classics. 4th place with kreuziger in Fleche Wallonia.

In the Giro the goal is to win the mountain jersey. But still have no idea how and with whom. Have a pretty strong team with me. J.Haig, M.Nieve, Chaves and A.Yates for the mountains. However if I want to get the mountain jersey I probably have to sacrifice either the spot of Chaves or Yates in overal standing...

So far won a sprint with Trentin against much better sprinters (which I really like) and a mountain stage with A.Yates. However Nibali seems to strong so far. Standing 3th with Chaves now and 5th with Yates after 9 stages.

@Infernoss

I usually just play the GTs manually and eventually some small races which are sponsor goals or TTs / TTTs in smaller tours, because I realized my results in time trial are much better than simulated ones. I simulate the vast majority of the other races and also stages of GTs which don't change anything (like sprint stages when I got no contender for the green jersey).

Yates is at 85 MTN still and has joined Bahrain - Merida for 145k / week.
Chaves is 80 MTN + 80 HIL and is still at Michelton for 74k / week.

From what I can say so far, the Vuelta is the easiest GT to win, because most of the top climbers won't race it. You usually end up with 1 or maybe 2 opponents there. Giro is harder because in my save it seems like almost every team leader rides it + the TdF.

Chaves came 11th, 5th and 8th overall in the Giro so far, but I think with 80 MTN it would be hard for him to win a GT in my save by now.

Best MTN stats in the game:

1 - Yates 85
2 - Sisa 84
3 - Froome, Quintana 83
5 - Bardet, Oomen, Landa, Soler, Buchmann 82

After that theres about 15-20 more with 80 and 81

Ahh oke. I do ride all the WT stages and tours. Just because in almost every case I can do a better job than simulating. I only simulate the non-wt courses I attend and the TT. Have no clue what to do during a TT. So just simulate. For some reason it got me the 4th place with A.Yatest in the giro TT (while his stats are shit).

Nice stats for S.Yates. I wont resign Chaves, gonna spend that money differently. Maybe see if that Sisa guy is free in my save aswell. Will ride the Vuelta with S.Yates. Need to ride top 3, but that should be easy if I see your experience.

Sisa was a generated driver in my save which came through my development team. Not sure if generated riders are the same in every save,

He started with 73 MTN when I signed him from the development team and climbed up to 84 in two seasons with legendary trainers.

You sure its not Sosa? Ivan Sosa is a real rider who always reaches 83 MON in my game, same with Pogacar

@Blueprint. Mitchel scott is really a fun team to play with. Plenty of choices to make and riders to go with. Ewan developed to the best sprinter of the peleton. And its a real challenge to get in the Top 10 with Trentin (cobbles) and Kreuziger (hills) of several classics.

So I chose Mitchelton-Scott indeed. Bit of a hassle with the objectives, as the AI decided that Nieve and Albasini should be leaders, instead of Trentin and Simon Yates, but after nerding over everything manually, it looks quite alright now.

Had an exciting Australian championship, where I found out that the old trick of putting a semi-strong guy in the breakaway for a guaranteed victory does not work anymore. Ended up with an epic battle instead, tiring Matthews and Haas enough with stop-and-go attacks to diminish their power on the last climb and leading it out for a sprint win of Caleb Ewan. Not the outcome I expected, but a lot of fun!

After that, I had a successful go at the Tour Down Under, where Impey took the GC and Albasini won a stage. The racing has improved a lot since 2015 and things are much more realistic, happy to see that. Sponsor still has mixed feelings though: met two important goals, but the sponsor is not happy about the lack of famous riders in those races. Not that I have any, but they don't care...

Just started a WT career with a custom team sponsored by Caisse d'Espargne. With Pinot, Jungels, Nieve, Dennis and Laporte. Latour, Gallopin, L. L Sanchez and Hofstetter for smaller races and backups in Grand Tours.

I know it's probably a bit too strong, but it will be hard in GT's and Sprints, while the main points are taken in smaller races. Main goal is to see Jungels get a GT podium and also to develop Latour into a strong contender. Only really signed Dennis because I really love TT's and Castroviejo would probably not cut that need.

I probably didn't hit the identity that this team once had, but cannot be truly disappointed with that. Jungels to lead the Giro. Pinot to lead TDF and Nieve for Vuelta

Once I have finalised a db I am working on, I will also start a MTS career due to the structure of the team, interesting position with regards to leader and some of my favourite riders being there. Seems like I'll treat Chaves different to some of you Angry

11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Ah cool! Curious how you manage the team. I did win the australian championship with Cameron Meyer....with a breakaway. Funny how it differs.

Sponsor goals are a little bit messed up, feels weird. I feel like I am doing a pretty good job. Oke I didnt won the Itzulia basque county (which was nearly impossible against a Froome) and messed up the tireno. But all the other goals are met. Still I am just nearly on a succes... About registered riders, in my save Ewan developed himself to 84 sp 83 acc and won for example milan san remo. Now he is a Star, which is a little bit more to the liking of the sponsor. But still just a small bar...

So far the Giro is a lot of fun. Took Nieve, Haig (10th), Chaves (3th) and Yates (5th) with me. Haig is in white jersey (young riders). Yesterday I managed to ride in a breakaway with Nieve to gain mountain jersey points (sponsor goal). Eventually managed to win the stage with 1 min on the peleton Wink.

@jandal7. Chaves is fun, but he seems to not develop and costs too much compared to other riders on that level.

Does that mean that you managed to changed the leaders? If so I would like to know how or did. Smile

No, he just used the Teammates and the Other Riders section of the Objectives screen to set separate objectives for his true leaders and then probably worked on their schedules in the planner to make sure that they have good peaks and solid support

I played out the first 3 sprints of the tdf with fortuneo to have as little impact as possible. Notable results:
* Kittel, Greipel and Gaviria battle for top3 every race.
* Sagan was of course (due to PCM) the dumbest sprinter when it came to positioning, but at least he tried. He placed consistently behind worse Sprinters in every visible stat. (Degenkolb, Cavendish)
* Demare did only do 1 Sprint at all, no notable result.
* Matthews didn't get a single point in the green jersey.
* Viviani is always last in sprint train for Gaviria( ,which is quite cool to see)
* Sprinters fight for in-between Sprints, too (might be that 1.0.2.5 fixed this due to more accurate leaders).
Balancing sprinters is really hard though, PCM does not make this easy.

EDIT: user your vertigo files of course. Pfft

Spent a lot of time in the planner indeed. Kinda annoying that we can't pick our own leaders.

Yes indeed. Also annoying the PCM doesn't update if you change your leaders objectives.

Also I liked the old Planner graphics, this one is just very hard to get an overview from

i played mostly pro cyclist careers
i tryed a custom manager career cause i do like to pick a well round team for every terrain
default leaders assigned by game sucks
if i change leaders main objective the fitness doesn't change and i don't know how to change it cause looks very different then pro cyclist fitness
for example i had tom dumolin and he was set by default to giro as leader and i wanted him on tour,i pick him for tour and i don't remember well if 82 was his fitness or satisfaction
i got mad and played pro cyclist

even i play pcm for years i just got mad instant and i quit manager career
if i stay a little in the manager carreer i will understand but the whole idea was to be easy with default or auto fix fitness plan if you change your objective

Found time to play some more. TDU winner Impey got second in the Cadel Evans race and won Abu Dhabi (simulation does strange things), so he's clearly our man for the early season. Now I just finished Strade Bianche, where Adam Yates attacked at the right moment, followed by only Kwiatkowski. The two worked together well to keep the other favourites at bay and by sitting in Kwiat's wheel like a coward in the last 3 km, Yates managed to outsprint him and steal the victory. Not sure if I'm proud of this, but it worked.

Now starting Paris-Nice with Simon Yates and Caleb Ewan, as well as Tirreno-Adriatico with Adam Yates. Ewan won quite some sprints in Oman (3) and Abu Dhabi (1) already, so let's hope we can keep this up until Sanremo. Even Kluge managed to win a mass sprint already in Dwars door West-Vlaanderen, much to my surprise. In PCM 2015, sprint results in simulated races were usually dramatic, so I'm happy with these results.

Nice win at Strade! Sitting in someones wheel who is clearly better works very good. With mountain stages I also quite often just follow the attack of someone else.

Simulating races so far didnt gave my any suprise win. I do ride all the WT races and simulate the others. Giro has been a lot of fun so far. Nieve is in the mountain jersey, Haig (10th) is in the white jersey, Yates (5th overal) in the sprinters jersey...and chaves is third. Won 3 small uphill sprints with Yates. Also the train Nieve/Haig/Chaves or Yates (depends on form) just destroys everyone.
