Pre-Season Planning Planned
andrewsius
Hi guys. Sorry if this question has been asked before. I've tried searching, but haven't found anything that fits my needs that isn't from 7 versions ago. Please point me in the right direction if this has been discussed before.

I'm having issues on how to best proceed with the pre-season planning for my team. I end up going from the sponsor's page, to rider objective, to calendar, back to sponsor's to double check, then rider again and don't have a proper "workflow" on how to best proceed with setting up the season for my riders.

For those of you who have done this countless of times, where do you start? Where do you go from there?

I'm really just someone who haven't played since PCM2012 and need some advice from someone who has played for a while.

Thanks in advance

I'm a pen and paper kind of guy. I write all my sponsors objectives on a piece of paper (in the order they will be raced) then write down who will race them (whether it's a whole team or only 3 or 4 guys).
It means I don't have to navigate through too many different pages like you describe.
Once I have done that, I go to riders objectives and plan it all in one go.
If I have young riders that won't race any of my sponsors objectives, I either leave what has automatically been assigned them or I give them objectives over the whole year so that they have a constant level of form.

Thanks for the input. Looks like that is the best way to go in my eyes as well. I just find it all a bit confusing having to go from page to page.

I do exactly the same thing. First write down the main objectives and also see which are more important for the sponsors. Then select the rider who is the person that needs to get the objective. I did this at the planning section and also assigned the helpers for these objectives. After this is done I just select the riders for other major tours/stages that are in form. If possible I also do some 2.1HC or 1.1HC stages. But in general i try to get everyone around 60-70 racedays. However it cost me almost 2 days to get the whole planning set up (I changed the training for every rider). But I liked it Wink

I use an Excel spreadsheet. On one I put all my riders and their attributes, on another I put all the riders and I write their roles as what I expect them to be (GC leader, sprinter, domestique etc.) and mark the in game leaders.

I make another sheat with sponsor goals and another with all the races in calendar and mark what type of rider would be leader. Then by virtue of eliminatation I make my race schedule and target fitness peaks.
