What is the quickest way to do the race planning for your cyclists so it's somewhat realistic?

If you leave the schedule empty, by default the game will choose cyclists when a race starts, but I've noticed that this selection is not very realistic, and for example Greipel only got 7 race days before the tour started.

I want to know how you guys tackle this, but I don't want to be planning my cyclists for 30minutes or more at the start of the season. I don't want to have it super perfect as well, just quite realistic that my main guys are OK when their objectives come, and that I don't send cyclists into races where they will overpower everyone. (like send Greipel to a race where the next best sprinter is Tom van Asbroeck for example)

I have the same problem, the planning is too time consuming and often unrealistic.
Why can I only set Tour de France or Giro as goal but not both?
Why is the fitness even with a set goal and automated training schedule so low after the first week of a grand tour? (this bug has been there for years now).

There should be a simpler arcade mode for fitness where you only select races, not his training shit with the percentages and useless and restricted goals.
At the moment, I have every domestic at a constant level during the season by letting them train 100/50/50/50/100.... and for the three, four main guys I up the fitness manually accorindgly to get them in the higher green mode.

Much more effective is to go 100/100/0/100/100/0, as long as you can ensure that the 0 weeks don't include any race days.

There is no quick way. After you set the objectives for your riders, you need to change all the fitness for every rider to 0 and 100, and be sure there is no race when they have 0 like cio93 said.

I hope they will change it, so you can do faster

I think I actually spend almost a day planning for the micromanagement style I use Grin But then again, that's not representative for most people here ...

I've created an automatic planner - aimed at pro tour teams -in my pcm career explorer (not included yet in the version available on this forum). It takes the objectives of your leaders set in the game, you can add global goals in the tool for each rider you want (Flanders, Ardennes, Giro, Vuelta, tour, Sanremo, ...)

Next it plans my cyclists, my best 7 riders get 80 racedays, the other ones 105. it loops over the races in popularity order, and each type of race requires x number of good cyclists, and x number of helpers (depending on how important the race is). It also avoids that if you have 2 star sprinters or 2 star stage racers that they ride the same races (unless you tell them to). It also looks at the current profile chosen, so a sprinter will look if Switzerland or Dauphiné suits them most...

It also has some preconfigured preparation races (if you ride sanremo, you'll most probably ride nice or tirreno as well, ...)

so I can now plan the entire season in 5, maybe max 10 minutes, it might not be in-depth and detailed enough for most of you, but it does the trick for me Smile (since I always play with protour teams anyway)

If anyone's interested I might upload the new version of my pcm career explorer

This is only the race planning, it does nothing with fitness, I don't touch it, I let the game decide it based on the objectives chosen in game, I don't want an advantage on the AI by microplanning the fitness

I was just about to ask you in your other thread if you would mind adding such a functionality Smile. Great work there, so yeah if you could upload that it would be great!

You can also copy the fitness and race program of one rider to other riders by drag & drop in the planner tab.

I only set the entire fitness program and races for my leaders then I copied my climber leader's program to my other climbers who I plan to have mostly in the same races and did the same for my sprinters.

It's not exact, but it's a pretty fast and efficient way. Of course deciding which leader rides which race is still something I have to do, but that part of planning I enjoy Smile

I didn't now that! Now is it a lot more faster to planning the fitness and race for the ridersSmile

That's why it's worth not de-activating the tutorial the 1st time! You never know what you might learn Pfft

I don't know, I made myself an excel list with my leaders, assigned helpers/sprinters to them and assigned who will race in which GT. After that I checked sponsor goals and tried to roughly fit them into the GT plan.

Transfering this into the game is relatively easy then, you basically assign the leader objectives, click on refresh and get a rough training schedule already. You can then tweak then a bit in the planner for each leader and then just copy training plans to his assigned helpers/sprinters.

I then select the riders for each race manually, so I don't have to assign races / tours to each driver in the planner.

It seems I have to put in all the races in the planner and then try to add the training?

I got the explorer you uploaded, it seems pretty handy with those features you have. Would love it if you uploaded it.

I've added a new exe in post #20 of my career explorer thread

those values 100/100/100/0 .. can you only do them in the beginning of the season?
