Not only that, but now they can claim that they've stoped CR7 and Messi in their encounters against them.
Fun Fact: these two encounters were their debut matches in major tournaments

Australia and Iceland both did really well. I was unimpressed with both penalty decisions against them, particularly the Icelandic one, but at least the use of VAR is a bit quicker and less disruptive, even if it’s still not especially accurate.

I'm pretty sure Slovenia is (a lot) smaller?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

It is, what he meant is country with the lowest population I think. Let’s go Iceland! |

By area Panama (also debuting at World Cup) is smaller than Iceland. By "Smallest nation" they mean the least populated nation, which is why "smallest nation" rather than "smallest country"

Outrageous decision by the VAR to favour France. How can anyone think that was a penalty?
Risdon traps Griezmann's left foot when he is about to lift his heel. Even if Risdon hits the ball at first, Griezmann takes another touch before he is caught. It's clearly a penalty.
Good angle at 55 seconds here.
The touch is pretty evident I agree. The australian player misses the tackle, Griezmann passes him and inadvertently hits the sliding defender with his heel. Griezmann doesn't even lose balance, he just dives.
No penalty imo.
Griezmann makes the most of it, no doubt, but there's clear contact and it interrupts his run.

If that's clear contact then Iceland should have been down to 9 men!

Missed that game unfortunately, but in this case I struggle to see how it's not.

Nein Mexico...Worst result that could happen for Sweden IMO.
We really need to win tomorrow against South Korea with many goals. |

You can be happy that Mexico didn`t win with 3-4 goals today.
Not sure what happened with Hummels, Boateng, Khedira, Kimmich, Müller. But this was incredibly bad by those.
Germany only started a bit in the second half but still was very weak. |

Mexico need to improve the final pass. Wasted way to many clear chances that could have cost them the win. Still, this result will make this group very interesting to follow. |

Wouldn't it be more confusing to only change the numbers before the match?... |

Having seen VAR used throughout the A-League season, I can safely say after a couple days at the world cup that it should be abolished as it ruins football. Why bother having a ref if he's just going to change his call for some important things anyway. How about the dives all over the pitch given as fouls as it seems the refs in this Cup will give basically everything. It's a contact sport.
