2 reasons I think, both are related to attracting people to them.
For 1 it is drawing direct attention of those who are heavily susceptible to this propaganda and then could join there group.
The other one is a bit deeper. By creating resistance against islam as a whole, polarization in society may rise. This means that some muslims will feel unjustly discriminated against and slowly but surely develop a hatred to those they feel hate them. Then they join these groups as a sort of revenge against those who, according to them, treat them wrongly, in this case the western world.
Don't know if this is the right place to post this but i am sure admin will move it if not.
I just want to say how shocking the tower block fire was in London yesterday.
At the moment there are 12 confirmed dead and many many more are still missing presumed dead. Its been a sad time for London in recent weeks and my heart goes out to those families who have lost everything except the clothes they are wearing.
At the moment there is no officially confirmed cause of the fire although there are some reports it was started by a fridge which exploded on the fourth floor.
I like how America's solution to the School Shooting problem seems to be to provide teachers with guns and therefore massively increase the number of guns in Schools.
"How do we solve this gun crisis? I know. More guns!!!"
Only in America.

Kind of convoluted way of looking at it, but I know what you mean. If some kid wants to shoot up a school (and is old enough to purchase a gun), they've just got to walk into Walmart and voila (I know it's a little more complex ofc)! More extensive background checks or something to make it take longer to actually receive the weapon would be a good start, I doubt most people who'd think about committing a mass shooting would go through with it if they had to wait 3-6 weeks to actually receive the weapon, as opposed to what it is now. They'd still happen as you'd expect in a country with such a gun culture as the US, but to a much lesser extent.
