Heine
Now that was unexpected Shock But I wont complain! Awesome from Lucas!

Thanks for the reports, this race has been a disappointment for me. Which race is up next? Pfft
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Two riders top 100 is one more than expected Pfft And what a surprise winner, congratulations, Heine! Points are raining your way everywhere these days!

I guess it will be needless to say, but that is just very unsatisfying:

On paper, I should get this:
1-2 Jerome Coppel
5-8 Panagiotis Vlatos
13-25 Bryan Coquard

Instead I got this:

5 Jerome Coppel Festina - Dexia + 4
19 Panagiotis Vlatos Festina - Dexia + 13
52 Bryan Coquard Festina - Dexia s.t.

The only positive thing here is not losing time to Phinney, and even gaining a bit on Fiedler (But that was always expected with his 82PRL).

Vlatos still in an OK position for top 15 overall, but U25 competition for Coquard on stage 2 is gone, even if he should end up winning the stage - and that is very dissapointing.

Massive result from Schädlich to take back a bit of the lost points in the TdF. Riders like Gretsch, Olman, Downey, Leung and Stenersen also punching well above their weight.

Congrats Heine Smile

Too bad he didn't save his 5+ day to the longer TT though

Excellent start by Kittel to take 4th in this field. Good by Goos to take 20th too.

Similar thought crossed my mind Pfft But there was every chance of two bad form days, so getting one good one is already a nice positive!

Indeed, and the first stage is always a great one to have, as it gives 55 points instead of just 40. I planned specifically on winning first stages last season, which gave quite a lot of extra points in the end Smile

But yeah. Had he won the long TT that would have been a huge result of course. But aren't it rare that those lower-level TT'ers overperform drastically on the longer TT's?

It feels like prologues can be more random, without really having analysed it, but then you get a race like the Isle of Man ITT, with Fominykh 4th and Ignatiev 23rd.

15th is shit for Sütterlin. He gotta get back on track in the important TT.

jt1109
Pretty average start from Phinney though he hopefully can make up for it in the long TT as these prologue are a complete lottery sometimes

An okay result. I'm obviously satisfied to see Zmorka in 2nd place, but Fiedler definitely on a bad day. Nothing decisive yet as expected.

We definitely have some sort of self-victimizing culture here in the Man-Game, but complaining about a surprise victory in the first stage of a stage-race is definitely uhm... creative.

Sorry about the rant, but how can we say congratulations to a comment like that?

This Grin

I would have thrown ten bananas at you, if Durbridge had won a TT!

Solid sprint by Kristoff, and nice to see Lhotellerie join the breakaway. Fingers crossed for a repeat of both on stage 4!

Also congratulations, beagle. Nice to see Degenkolb back to winning ways against some very tough opposition. Also a good result by Guarnieri, mixing it with the three best sprinters in the world.

And thank you for the report, AbhishekLFC!

5th in itself would be okay. Being half a wheel behind second place and inches from the podium makes it disappointing and a loss of points though.

Great showing by youngster Leung in the prologue. Guerao also satisfactory with his 7th place, but it seemed like he was a little bit boxed in so more was possible. Thanks for the first two stage reports! Wink

No splits, no worries!

With no sprinter brought here, I had hoped for Vanspeybrouck to try (at least on the final day) joining breakaways. Not sure if a high GC position for Durbridge allows it though? Obviously, I am hoping for Durbridge to keep his high GC place, so I won't care about the flat stages - as long as they don't allow escapees to move up in the GC or as long as no rider gets dropped (am looking at you, Miles Olman) Pfft

So when I wake up tomorrow, the TT will be there. I'm too excited, I fear. Please don't disappoint me again. I have some wishes: Durbridge to shine, Hepburn to finish at least Top-15 and Bobridge to deliver as well. And ofc the team's ranking would be nice to defend. Whining didn't help me in the past few weeks, so I will switch my tactics and leave some wishes on the forum Smile

Swift clearly had the speed but for some reason the leadout didn`t work properly.
Bad luck but good to see Degenkolb winning.

Bauhaus behind Bewley at the sprint...podium in the U25 sprinter classic must have motivated Bauhaus a lot. Good sign with Avenir to come. Pfft

Gustavovskiy
As others expressed it it's nice to see Degenkolb take this win after what happened at the Tour and most of their season.

Ahlstrand continues to underperform. Spotify would be safe by now, had him had a reasonable season.

Thanks for noticing Pfft

Yeah not even Top 10 is well bad. But he still have a chance in this race atleast.

Roman
Nothing in prologue almost as expected. Sad.
Bewley only 4th. Could be even worse though. At least Festina are not having a great race. So far. Quite happy. Pfft
