Apologies for the delay. I must say I really enjoyed reporting this race. Lots of twists and turns till the end. A couple of teams quite unlucky and commiserations to those.
Congrats to the winner(s). And a pretty awesome race for the wildcards!

What an awesome stage, same for the report. Incredibly done Abhishek.
Great to see Dekker winning, also congrats to Roman. Hirt is going to be amazing for you! The needed puch back towards having a chance on the title.

33rd?
From 4 to 33 in two days? You sure he didn't crash? That's quite some losses for someone, who ain't that worse as other GC riders..
What a nightmare yet again. Horrible.
Thanks for the reports anyway. Won't be too positive these days though.

No crash that I saw at least. Same for the others who lost big on this stage!

Man, what a legendary tumble! I couldn't be more gutted about this stage. Reis was pretty consistent so far, I couldn't have imagined this outcome. We haven't been this unlucky since Tirreno I think, so it was more or less due at this point I guess.
Anyway, a very entertaining last stage as expected. Moser being Moser and just casually taking an epic victory with a strong but obviously not top contender. Congrats (for the ganzillionth time ) Roman. Cattaneo and Hirt with a nice climb up the ranking, while Abal also faded yet still abal to secure a nice top5. Ayubowan and Jayco with us on the unlucky side.
Thanks for delivering such an interesting event Abhishkek! And congratulation on the overall victory roturn!

What a stage! And what a race for Puma. Featured prominently in all stages but the TT, and in all final classifications. Brilliant ride by everyone involved.
Nerz avoided an off-day the whole race through which was vital, and 7th is a deserved final spot for his aggressiveness and consistency.
Mager and Chevrier did well here to improve or secure their high GC positions and give us a good teams classification too. Sadly Mager couldn't fight for more KoM points, but 14th in the GC for a 74 mountain rider is crazy.
And to top it all off, Ciolek survived the stage to take some points from that jersey as well.
Commiserations to the daily form-affected teams here, an awful last stage for many. Congrats to Aegon though, I didn't expect Dekker to pay off like that. And SotD won't be happy.
And thanks a lot for awesome reports!

Why wouldn't I be happy? Hirt performing well here isn't surprising. He is the number one climber with 73+ACC, so definately doesn't surprise me to see him take a win, and climb to top 5 in the GC. I actually said a couple of stages back, that I was pleased to see him do this well...
Vasyliv was pathetic though, but our 77MO riders have been all season long. While others have taken top GC results the only thing we have achieved is a lucky stagewin from Vasyliv in the Giro. All GC and KOM results have been nothing. Affonso trying but clearly not on a good day as he should have been OK here.
Cink drastically overperforming here much like Kulhavy and Vysna in Switzerland, but we got what we came for. 100 points.

That's another pretty random stage looking at the results and how much some riders lost
Galta lucky in the end to get 8th, I'd say, only holding on with 5 seconds compared to Keinath in 9th.
Puma - SAP, Wiesenhof and Moser the huge winners on that final stage, I feel, in addition to of course roturn with Dekker's magnificent overall win. Congratulations to you all!
Also thank you AbhishekLFC for your very nice and also consistent reporting. Greatly appreciated! |

Well that was not really good from Abal but Im glad he did not suffer as much as Monsalve, Haig etc. But loosing 10 mins on two stage against Hirt and Cattaneo is quite much...
Pre race I would have been very happy with 5th but seeing how the race went on I´m still a bit dissapointed two stages ago Abal was a few sec behind the leader Dekker then two nightmares...
Cort Nielsen riding in to a nicely 22nd is good.
Congrats roturn! Thanks for great reporting! |

The final two days will be tough though. Really not looking forward to it Guess it can only become worse than our current 4/18 GC situation for Haig and Lowe.
Yeah well We went frok 4/18 to 16/50+... PCM life sucks these days.
Indeed. You have had a pretty rough season in terms of bad luck. A bit of good luck here and there also of course, but much like Tinkoff it will be a season that is referred to as bad luck.
Impressive how high you are in the rankings considering the amount of bad luck, especially for your team leaders. That must be quite comforting in terms of next season. You should be easily fighting for top 5 next season by simply keeping your team intact and making a little bit of training. Hell even top 3 seems realistic.
Thanks for the kind words! If we keep going like our most recent "performances", I guess we may become a Top 3 contender in the PCT the rankings would be looking so good if only Morton OR Haig had done anything. No Top-30 in TdS and CDL though.. gosh. Even in my most pessimistic thoughts, I would never ever predicted such a terrible terrible result. Oh I'm still so pissed.

Excellent final stage for the team.
Keinath with perhaps his best ride of the race, secures the Top 10 in 9th, very nearly 8th. Only the TT really letting him down in the end.
Fantastic performance by Gastauer too. Getting in the break and doing enough to take the KoM jersey - a great reward for 3 breakaways effort. And somehow giving him 24th in GC. Quite a surprise, and even more so given that he lost 8 minutes on the opening flat stage, and a load more on the TT.
Big final day performance once again for Cattaneo, and clearly Hirt as well. Abal is unlucky to end up 5th, but it's nice to see Dekker able to win a PT stage race once again. A great payoff for roturn, and his top target of the transfer season. A 10 year gap between Dauphine victories is quite something.
Tough on Haig and Reis though, the latter must surely have crashed on the final stage and gotten injured - no other explanation possible.
Thanks for the reports Abhishek!

Dzhus
Scarponi decent enough though to make this a rather decent race.

While I would have loved to see Sicard steal the win on the last mountain stage, it's also quite awesome to see Dekker still performing, even winning a PT stage race.
Overall, a good performance by Orange. I wish they would do just as well in PCT... |

Indeed impressive. Something I actually did not notice really as the very best Dekker era was before I joined the MG.
But really cool to see he still has it. Last season with Compal Dekker really impressed already and it`s nice that I could give him another year on PT level and it`s good that he is totally able to challenge the best.
Also a rare race win on mountain terrain for my team. Think it`s the 2nd in total only for me with Keizer in Andorra being the only other.
Also 2nd ever PT stage win for my team since Swift`s SAA Afrique last year.
Obviously the TdF discussion saw me spoiled here a bit but it was still very nice to read through the reports and still was a thrilling race. Abal a bit unfortunate as he was close. Not sure what he got this season but surely one of the most positive surprises all year.
Sicard was expected to win here but underperformed a bit. Then it was Dekker, Monsalve, Cattaneo I expected for the podium. Good that Dekker won this fight and delivered me a nice win. |

I am sorry for a late reply, was in a hospital for some time, but things are finally going well now.
I am really happy with my team in this race. Hirt did so well! Winning a stage and ending up 4th, incredible stuff! Cink also, can't understand why he overperformed so much at all.
Late congrats to roturn! Fantastic to see Dekker doing so great so late in his career.

What the hell happened to Monsalve in the final stage here? I know bad daily form can happen, but even on a -5 day he shouldn't be losing 21 minutes.
Quite likely that this result will be the one at the end of the season we look back on as securing our relegation - dropping from a potential 3rd down to 19th is a terrible result. Thanks for the reports though Abhishek, aware I'm quite far behind. Have been lurking due to a busy time |
