I hope Lopez does a good TT next and Astana goes full Giro 2015 in final week. Imagine Aru to launch Lopez into Angliru _O_

No way. He is too far and he can not beat Froome et al with a such deficit.

there mr Riis123 once again..no need 6. Col's and over 200km stages.
Short and agressive stages..there the fun starts.

Thankfully we have Lopez.
Damn you Sky. Making another GT boring. Thankfully we Giro left

As long as Sky bots continue to fall on the Giro, we're fine. The day Moscon goes there, fun ruined. We will have boring cycling for the ages. We need more riders like Alberto, Lopez. Riders who want to give everything to win, no matter if they fail.

Of those 200+ k:
Montalcino 2010
L'Aquila 2010
Asolo 2010
Saint Jean de Maurienne 2010
Gardeccia 2011
Galibier 2011
San Giorgio del Sannio 2015
Corvara 2016

Of those 150- k:
Huez 2011
Val Martello 2014
La Spezia 2015
Andalo 2016
Vinadio 2016
Formigal 2016
Foix 2017

Also for example in 2009 Giro:
Monte Petrano (237 km) > Blockhaus (79 km) or Siusi (125 km)
Or 2017 Giro:
Bormio (225 km) > Ortisei (137 km)

Also one of the best stages of the decade, Aprica 2010 was 195 km, not a short stage.
So 'the short stages bring much more entertainment than long stages' is far from truth.

Can you decide, on one hand you are praising the 'short and aggressive stages' (we must have seen a different race, but k), but at the same time you are thanking Sky for making the race boring.

Today's stage was decent at best. The attacks were at no point threatening to Froome and he had everything under control, no worries. That didn't have anything to do with the length tho, that was simply because of the last climb being way too shallow.

Great post. Though the stage was well-designed imo. Though the original design was better.
Though, ofc, this would be much better than both (from PRC) :

Maybe they should start the Tour or the Vuelta in Italy to see if they can confuse the bots by tricking them into thinking they are riding the Giro so they will all start falling down more often.

Froome`s kind of riding really is most boring way...unfortunately also the most successful way.

Would love if more riders would go the instinct way instead. Much more enjoyable as spectator.
Why would Sky do it? They have won TDF 5 times like this.

No, he cant, so he just grumbles. Pfft

I am maybe one of the few (?) guys, who enjoy the racing at this years Vuelta, it is okay when you accept the obvious things instead of having a romantic view, that cycling is in same state as in 50s or whatever.

Froome and SKY simply has the most efficient style to win the cycling races, spending as less energy as possible. Contador for example wastes his energy with pointless attacks, that were only best when he was full of dope and ultra-eficcient cycling was not so visible. Ofc i like attacks and action too, but you are here primarly for the win, not for the "most likeable cycling ride of the year" prize. (which Contador could never win anyway, because he is pathetic liar)

Superman is flying like mad, but he was also only allowed because of time loss in first week, he will be shut down if trying again i guess.

My podium guess now would be Froome-Nibbles-Zakarin, lets see if Wilco the passive guy, Chavito or Superman can do something about it.
I'll be back

What? It will be Froome-Lopez-Kelderman. Maybe Nibali third.

But Sagan is extremely likeable, right?

Yes, Contador has had some pathetic hypocritical statements, on the league of Froome, Schleck, Nibali and co. but they aren't even close to Sagan (who was the one that groped the podium girl (he tried the same thing in E3 as well), or that he shouldered Maxime Vantomme deliberately in G-W, or what he did in this Tour.)

Today the time trial. If things turn bad, then we already know the winner days ahead of Vuelta's end, which would be Chris Froome. I don't think however that his form is particularly well and hope that this shows itself in a bad time trial performance. So far, I stand with the common assumptation that Froome is only in the red jersey because of his strong team performance, especially Moscon and Nieve have been gold. Maybe this will become apparent in the time trial, too.

Nibali might end up pretty close to Froome, but the interestng question will be how MAL and also Kelderman perform. Vini Zakarini is said to be an okyasih time trialist but he seemed to be rather bad in the time trials I have watched. I don't see anybody taking time on the Froomster, but I hope they limit the damage well enough. I also think that Contador will do one of his better tt's, his performances have always been worthwhile in Spain and less erractic than in France. Some Giro 2015 time trial would be most welcome Wink
