Having gambled for slovenian succes last season, Festina took over once again at the beginning of the upcoming season as head sponsor, taking along Dexia as financial security. The two times back-to-back Pro Tour winners present themselves as being massively represented with a French and Greek core. Heading into the pre-season numbers tally to a total of 11/18 riders from the domestique focus regions. Despite being succesful in the past two seasons, the team is very talented and counts no less than 11 riders at the age of 27 or below.

We have assembled the best result of all races throughout our presence at the Man-Game, under the name of Festina (+/- something else). These are our best results in all races we have ever ridden. A lot of races have changed status throughout the years. The "Status" column shows at what level the result was achieved and the "Current" column shows at what level the race is currently ridden - if still on the calender.

Thanks a lot. It's the_hoyle who did the magic!
I don't know really. I have won two times in a row, so the pressure is only on if my goal is to make it a record 3 times
I don't necessarily see that as my target. I tend to try to win new things every season. Last season I gave it everything to win the Tour de France and failed. This season maybe time to try something new entirely

Such a high quality team with sustainable growth behind it. Good luck for the upcoming season. I am sure you'll perform on a high level as expected of you by now.

Looking forward to seeing what you manage to pull out of the hat for 2017, maybe another title defense?

It will be interesting indeed. I see a lot of quality in the DB I would like to assign, but knowing the off season things never come together like I planned it, so I will have to be patient and see what sort of things I can create - Another title defense would be incredible, but not necessarily my main goal.

Thanks. Yeah luckily I have a lot of decent talent in my team that can be trained in different directions, but sometimes that doesn't exactly make taking decisions easier

I always enjoy SotD's offseason tales and I'm curious what moves you will do this offseason and which decent rider you will sell this time for close to a quadrillion

Some plans are underway for sure, others will occur and a completely different option will be taken is my guess
Having a DB full of riders I want, it could be a very interesting off season indeed!

Yup. Same story as always - I'm eager to see what you end up doing aswell. If this is the year where you also get a climber that isn't "just" on par with my 3-5th best

Congrats on a dominant PT title, even without Spilak doing as well as you might have liked (although I'm not too sorry that Spilak missed out at the Tour ). Interesting conundrum for him now, with even less RDs to play with.

Thanks a lot. Yeah I bet you're happy with that, but come on. Pass on the GT depeche to the Young and upcoming managers who never won a GT (Read: Me!)
Yeah it is quite a headache to be honest, but picking the races where Schleck doesn't go is probably a good start if I want him to pick up top points

Just checked the wage i was looking forward to the most in the database and wow! I know who will be the best points-wage ratio rider in new season already.
You have some tough choices ahead, but you can build around this base and dominate again, i will cheer for Festina for sure!

Spilak was definately good yes. Lecuisinier was about 50K above what I had hoped for, while Coppel was much over.
Thanks mate
I can keep basically the same team as last season, add some training and a few loanies and then that's it - OR... I could... Hmm...

After a couple of strong seasons we are happy to announce that all but 1 riders have decided to stay with us for the upcoming season. Austrian Champion of 2015, Markus Eibegger have decided to try his luck elsewhere and we wish to thank him for his services throughout the past couple of seasons. In 2015 he was an integral part of the teams point scoring, while he remained a positive character and always helpful in his 2016 season, but not getting the personal succes he and we would have liked.
Simon Spilak accepted a wagecut, which was initially discussed prior to the 2016 season where we decided to gamble on him as a sole leader, spending precious racedays from the likes of Jerome Coppel and Pierre-Henri Lecuisinier to aid his chances of personal succes. As results were below our initial plannings (which Simon was part of setting) he decided to agree on a 900.000€ contract as to the prior which was 50.000€ higher.
Also Olivier Le Gac accepted a small wage cut after having been unimpressed with his own performances throughout the season.
While only a few were unsatisfied with their own individual results, many expressed their wishes to get a wage improvement, and we have accepted to give Pierre-Henri Lecuisinier, Jerome Coppel a significant wage increase, while riders such as Charalampas Kastrantas, Tom David, Georgos Tzortzakis and Panagiotis Vlatos all receive a symbolic fee for their strong efforts.
The remaining riders: Clement Koretzky, Bryan Coquard, Piter Campero, Yuriy Vasyliv, Jakub Novak, Alexis Gougeard, Maxime Bouet, Nejc Kosic and Mathieu Bernaudeau all accepted the same wage as last season.
