The GPU isn't solely what makes you able to run the game on higher settings.
I'd say you'll need a laptop with an Intel i7 (6700HQ or 7700HQ) processor, an 256GB SSD combined with a 1TB HDD for storing your games, at least 16GB DDR4 RAM and a GTX 1060. A laptop with these specs would cost aroudn 1600 USD though.
If you switch to a GTX 1050 and just an 128GB SSD, you'll quickly get down to your price range, which is also quite an acceptable setup for a gaming laptop.
I'm not an expert on AMD (not a big fan either), so I can't give you any comparison on their components. What I do know is that there aren't many gaming laptops with AMD components around, which must be for a reason
Inactive due to personal reasons.

you do not need an intel i7.
In fact, for a gaming pc or laptop I'd advise against the extra price of an I7 compared to an I5. For gaming, you can rely almost solely on your graphics card.
I have a 5 year old I7 and it can probably last another 5 years easily as long as I keep upgrading my GFX card every 2/3 years.
The % increase in performance is minimal nowadays. And I7 you pay extra for the hyperthreading technology which is never used in games. Stick with an I5 if you are on a tighter budget. And use that money for your GFX card |
