I performed a test, this time on the green bar.
I used 3 riders with all stats 65, on the first one I burned up a lot of green bar in order to have a double length green bar on the second and third rider.
now i compared the 3 riders in a lot of possible situations, by using same effort for all of them:
-on flat
-on climbing
-downhill
-by using dot
-by using short relay.
-attack
i observed that both the ppm,the speed, the yellow bar and the red bar consumption was exactly the same!!!!
i didnt appreciate any differences between the two riders with double green bar compared with rider with less green bar...
I am so confused and frustrated, I hope i m missing something...
Performing the same test in the old pcm editions (2006-2014) the green bar had a heavy effect on the riders performances. In fact more green bar allowed (at a fixed effort) an higher speed of the rider. In the short relay case, a more green bar rider had always less ppm (because it was enough a little effort to stay in short relay with the others)
Can someone pls help me to verify this observation pls? If the green bar really dont work it is a colossal bug!!!

I think you should post it with a replay video of your test in the official cyanide forum. This way we have a chance it will be fixed |

with a deeper test i put in evidence the green bar effect.
A rider with more green bar have a very very little higher speed (often a fraction of km/h). The effect is visible only close to the end of the stage (same than in the old pcm version) btw its effect is little compared with old pcm editions and maybe starts when the green bar is low (less than an half or so)

I am very surprised that is no discussion about thist. In my opinion if its true what sobrano says that we have the biggest bug so far. Bigger that no working STA last year. |

What is green bar supposed to do? I thought it was just a general 'energy' bar that ran out throughout the stage.

I believe it's supposed to be your general 'energy' meter. If it's full, you're fully rested and can perform optimal. The more it gets depleted, the less you can achieve your best performance.
In a way it should be connected with stamina, recovery and resistence, which influence how much you can handle before it starts having an effect on you. A rider with high stamina/resistence should therefore be able to perform better after having ridden 200km of a 240 km stage because he should be having more of a green bar left. A rider with a high recovery should have more green bar left after 2 weeks of racing the Vuelta. A rider with 20% more green bar and a sprint of 75 might at that time beat a sprinter with 20% less green bar and a sprint of 78, when they both have the same preparation and RDC.
I was actually coming here to see whether anyone else has doubts about the recovery stat. It impacts the RDC as it has an effect, but even in a Grand Tour like the TdF or the Vuelta after every rest day it's back to '66 REC -> no impact'.
I would think that after twee weeks of riding the Giro one with a 66 REC would still be feeling pretty exhausted, especially when one has been in an attack or when has exerted himself a lot, despite the two rest days inbetween.
In previous versions I recall that recovery impacted the green bar, as it wouldn't be completely filled in a GT after a while. The lower the REC stat, the lesser the bar would fill up, meaning you would be exhausted faster than other riders with a high REC stat.

There isnt a bug a think. as i said just before ur post i was able to appreciate a difference (little) between riders with a different lvl of green bar.
My "little" dont mean it is not enough (probably cyanide did better tests that mines in order to balance how much a green bar difference affects the rider performances) |

i performed a quick test this year as I did in pcm 2014, where the REC stat affected the freshness and form lvl stage after stage. an high REC rider will maintain a form and freshness lvl higher then low REC rider.
It mean a lower lvl of green bar at the start of the stage. This was in 2014.
In 2017 i just did a quick test where I was able to appreciate again a difference btw freshness and form lvl between a low REC and an high REC rider. I didnt look in 3d race if the green bar lvl is affected too ( I think so but i didnt test it) |

It is.
General test: try to be in the breakaway as much as possible, or work at the front of the peloton entire day. You'll notice if it runs out your dead. And if you do this several days in a row your green energy, as well as yellow/red, will not fill up to 100% anymore.
I don't agree with the topic title, since I know very well from my Pro Cyclist and Career mode the green work bar does work. It seems most likely the topic starter doesn't understand how the green bar works, which is something entirely different. |

if u read well the post u can read that the post started after my first test when I didnt appreciate any green bar effects. I did several deeper test and i wrote the results always in this post. Btw to be really sure about a stat it is not enough do a carrer because during a carrer there are a lot of others factors who affects the green bar as other stats (daily form, freshness, different riders, equipments,...). The only way to have confident results is by performing a test where all of cyclists are in the same conditions with the same stats and in the same situation during the test. After u have a result u have to do the same test again and again to see if the result is repeatable
