Froome the cunt fucked over Landa Thursday

How is froome a c.unt?? He was the leader of the team and landa was a domestique. If landa wanted to be tdf leader then he shouldn't have taken the money and agreed to his ROLE! Or he should have won the giro as was agreed before the season even started. You can't agree to change tactics based on a few days of form when this has been planned months in hand.

Froome was Wiggins domestique and looked stronger than him in the 2012 tdf but froome stuck to his ROLE and Wiggins won the tdf. Was froome a c.unt here?? When all he done was follow team orders??

What happens next year if Quintana stays at movistar and landa is domestique again?? Is Quintana the c.unt??

why is my name n the quote ?i didnt write he was .

Next years route. Hope for 70k TT with Dumoulin vs Froome duel.

Hoping for 100 kilometres so the extremely defensive and conservative climbers can get their act together and actually attack, not just 3 km from the top.

How the hell is it that Lutsenko is still in competition for the U25 jersey?
That guy has been in the peloton forever Shock

Listen. Let's put a new rule in cycling:
If you win a GT and a team mate of yours is in the top 5, you can't keep that rider.

Or, to be less subtle:
If you're riding for sky and you're strong enough to lead a team yourself, get out of there.

Also and lastly: Quintana. Jeez.
What a sad season so far Frown

He has won Adriatico and Velenciana and he finished 2nd in the Giro, including a very memorable stage win on the hardest climb of the race on Blockhaus. Thats not really sad. He just was completely empty in the Tour.

For Bardet to win the Tour, there will need to be 0 TTs and lots of technical descending finishes as well MTFs. I'm very sad about that given I thought his TTing might have gotten slightly better.

Bah.
Still a sad season.
He should've bagged a Tour by now. Or at least that 2nd giro.
Promising top climber but hasn't impressed in the mountains anymore.

Its not a optimal season by any means, but its really an overstatement to say its sad. How about Contador's season? Nibali's?

Nibali also sad season.
Contador okay. Didn't expect any miracles from him.

Keep in mind that I'm talking about something very subjective. I can understand what you mean. But just for me only, Quintana has become a bit of a sad character in the peloton. I have this feeling he lost a bit of his grinta that he showed in his younger years.

Riis123
Well if any of those riders have had a sad season its Contador. He finished 3 important one week races as 2nd and lost 2 of those 3 very narrowly one with 2 seconds to Henao, and crashed 2 times in the queen stage in this year's Tour. Nibali has a stage win on the queen stage, a podium at the Giro and a potential Vuelta in a month.

I think Quintana has plenty of grinta when he has the legs, but the experiment didnt pay of. Undar par in the Giro and bad in the Tour. Happens. He still have something to show for this season tho. But I could probably have said before the Tour to not have too many expectations for Quintana, this was Valverde's Tour but he blew it.

Cycling threads here became so pathetic. Sad

Great day for Poland in France, they can into space! Grin

Great TT from Landa, compared to abyssmal day for Bardet, shame about that 1 second, i would like to see Landa at the podium. Such a great showing from him and still staying loyal and professional, that is how it should be when you do something for a living.

Hoping for reborn Gorilla tommorow. Smile
I'll be back

The only positive about today is Bodnar. Sigh

Exactly.

Let's put this into account: Landa was perhaps the Giro top climber and probably would have podium'ed quite easilly had he not crashed like a pillock. Compared to the other two riders who peaked at Giro - Pinot and Quintana - he was monster compared to them. He was the Tour's best climber alongside his team-mate, and stayed on top form throughout basically... 2/3 months almost? I wonder what'll happen when he leaves Sky.

Obviously Landa is the true heir to Pantani, only he can hold peak form for so long. LANDA DOUBLE 2018 confirmed Cool

In the end, is what is, as the philosopher Sagan would say. The one second was lost or gained somewhere along the line.. think for example the stage to Foix, where Landa came TWO seconds behind Barguil into the finish. This is such a narrow margin, you can deduct and add seconds everywhere. Not sure why a penalty would be then interesting since its such a continuation of what if.

I am happy for Bardet, he has worked hard for this podium and so has his team. It'd been heart breaking to lose it here. However his time trialing was abysmal and he needs to work on it. Otherwise it will always hold him back. Climbingwise, he can't improve that much anyway, he is is already one of the best there. Of course it is tough to hold that level and improve on time trialing but surely he still has room to grow. Smile

I am sad for Landa of course, he could have skyrocketed with this result and became a sensation really. Landa and Sky have brought it on themselves to not have podiumed with a second rider. They have not backed Landa consequently enough, and Landa himself was not fully racing at time, especially earlier in the race. This is of course easy to say in hindsight and Sky have achieved their objective of winning le Tour for the 5th time. Gratz.

Alas, hopefully Landa gets a nice contract next year, be it Sky, Movistar or (me hoping) back to Astana, and take up the mantle for good from Pantani and Contador by winning a GT.

"It’s a little bit scary when Contador attacks." - Tommy V

Btw. as someone who laughed at Contador heavily pre-Tour, i have to give him a lot of credit for still fighting. He probably does not know any other tactics than attack like he is best in the race and then exploding, but man still fight and fight. I think that this should be his goodbye to the Tour de France, atleast end it in style.

Contador should race Vuelta, Giro + Vuelta 2018. There are decent chances he will win one of those races and finishing in Spain wouldn't be too bad either He shouldn't go back to the Tour, he has given it way too much and hasn't gotten anything back lately other than disappointments honestly. I hope thats his plan.

While Movistar will add Landa (should almost be confirmed) and Valverde will recover fully, Quintana will race no Giro, then we suddenly have a race! Kelme on steroids.

Riis123
By thw way, Movistar has offered 2 mil euros. They offered 1,5 in 2015, but Landa chose the money. He really wants to race for Movistar (Quintana should be pissed reportedly lmao), but Valverde confirmed it to Unzue the day before the Tour, basically greenlighting the deal. Unzue doesn't add such big riders without confronting the godfather of the organizatio first. Alejandro also really wanted to race with Alberto back in the day, Unzue wanted to add him, but that never materialized unfortunately.

Come on man, there is like 1% chance he can win any GT in the future and i am maybe too generous...

I believe he can win the Giro as I dont think the Italians will race since I have a clue about they will boycott the start in Jerusalem, assuming Aru goes to UAE. Bahrain and and UAE won't be pleased about that and Nibali will race the Tour regardless, I think. And I still believe Contador is better than both those 2.

Dumoulin will race the Tour. Bardet will. Quintana sure as heck wont go back to the Giro. Landa will, but stranger things have happened. Wink Contador isn't done, he just needs luck and not too many true mountain stages.

And just to add to this post, Quintana will reportedly train in Monaco now instead of Colombia. Thats good. He will probably also call it a season now, so Valv and Quintana is done and fully focused on next season. If Movistar can bring those 3 riders in good shape to the Tour (I assume Landa will ride Giro beforehand), they will have an extremely potent team and will fully rival Sky and a declining Froome WITHOUT Landa.
