I really dont understand why TDF is bigger then giro and vuelta... And no, I dont mean because of the media, money and everything like that. But for many cycling fans that follow the entire season why is TDF what they look most forward to...
My favourite last 10 years or so has been the giro ,but if you ask the average guy in the street name a cycling race 99% would say the TDF ,just how it is . |

Froome won Tour de France on first ITT. If we gonna count all stages excluding time bonuses and opening ITT:
1. BARDET Romain
2. URAN Rigoberto +2"
3. FROOME Christopher +14"
Even with time bonuses Froome would be third. But I think then Uran would be first. |

And then Froome would take that all back on the final TT...

Before stage he talked about he is here to win, not get 2nd place and he is going to attack and attack and attack until he is either dead or winning... |

And? He clearly didn't have the legs to do so...

But if he is in TDF to win and did not care to much about anything else then to win, should he then not atleast did one proper attack during these 18 stages?... |

His first objective was Top 10 before the race started, him getting on podium is massive success.
Secondly, he clearly wasn't stronger than Froome on any mountain so he played it well to be only 30 seconds behind. The chances of Froome having weaker day are very possible and then he stands a good chance of winning the Tour if that would to happen.
The fact Uran has a chance of winning the Tour is fucking crazy considering last few years. So yea I think he's well pleased |

Barguil is amazing.
If the Tour has a lot of ITT next year, Dumoulin will be extremely happy with this guy |

IMO this is the best GT for Iwan Spekenbrink's team.

Froome four tour de france victories
How can Contador be so bad in TDF every year? |

And more cobbles. Just no.
Tourmalet-Gavarnie, Tourmalet-Lac de Payolle, Tourmalet-Luz Ardiden or Tourmalet-Viscos-Gavarnie can be great. Pont d'Espange, Cauterets and Le Cambasque are ok too but the aothers are better options.
Viscos is part of Luz Ardiden, but they don't go until the top (yes, Luz Ardiden is dead end, but 4 kms before the top is a pass); and if they are doing Gavarnie after Viscos, they are tackling it from the unused side: (until the Luz-Saint-Sauveur intersection)
Gavarnie: (only until Gavarnie)
Soudet-Marie Blanque-Aubisque-Spandelles-Hautacam would be an awesome stage _O_
I also demand cobbles. Also the ribin (sterrato) roads of Tro Bro Leon would be great.

why not make it 21 sprint stages or go back to the old ways where it wasn't decided by points but stage finishes

Unlike many people here i am quite satisfied by this years Tour, i really enjoyed it even after all that jury madness and bad falls that sent home some of the most spectacular riders. Sagan and Cav could light up the boring flat stages, but at least we got nice battle for the green before that bad luck for Kittel. Ofc imagine that fight with all contenders (read Sagan), that would be something!
Majka for the change could maybe challenge Barguil and achieve triple in polka dots, but what Barguil was doing? Awesome, for me the rider of the Tour 2017, hats off! I dont understand why someone downplay that super things he have done with "pff, he is only GC guy who messed up first week". Who cares, he was top notch. Whole Sunweb with amazing Tour, team of the year??
That brings me to the team SKY...yeah, i was one of those long time haters and still dont like them, like i always dont like those sports "monopoly" teams. But i can give them the credit for perfect work throughout the whole race, i think that wholůe SKY and Froome have done just enough to secure the win and nothing more, conserving as much energy for Vuelta as possible. Those who think that he would have problems without TTs, like really? He would have reeled in everything, if needed. Only GC dangerous guy who attacked many times was Bardet and he also deserves credit. Then there is certain colombian guy, who i have only seen half-hidden for three weeks, i think they call him Urán Urán Urán Urán? Still, great Tour for him.
Aeah i know i am doing a balance when there are three stages left, but lets hope nobody crashes or something like that. (even Froome, he is deserved winner).
