Sometimes I think we forget, that they all want to win, it is not like they do not wish to attack, because that like to suck-wheel, mostly it is just because they can't.

It is becoming clearer by the day who Movistar's real leader was, Valverde was behind closed doors, Quintana was in the public. Now Landa rumoured to Movistar and Quintana is even more pissed, his agent has even contacted Astana and Sky, rumours say! Unzue has publicly said not to nice words about Quintana and his progression. |

So today Team SKY will have under control the whole race once again. Kwiatkovski and Landa will be able to stay with Froome pretty long so any attacks on Col d'Izoard will be neutralized by Team SKY. Bardet will try once again but he wont be able to distance Froome. Uran will maybe try as well but only once. Froome/Landa/Kwiatkovski trio will cover every move so there will be no extra excitement even the route of this stage is saying that it could be => but not with Team SKY robots.
Thats it. Froome will enter Marseile TT with comfortable lead and will win fucking 4th Tour de France. I can not help myself but I really hate Team SKY in Tour de France. In other races they dont upset me as much as in the Tour.
I definitely think that Richie Porte is the only man who could kick Froome`s ass. And he had to crash
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Yes, its a shame the two best stage racers in 2017 had to crash out this way and rob us for real excitement |

Yep it is sad. 4th time Tour winner. Yeaah you need to be fit and mentally tough to achieve that, still there is hard to like winner like that. I does not matter does he win 2, 4 or 15 times.
I believe even Porte would have been helpless against those 3 Skyborgs. Larnda has been riding so easily..he would ride back any rider at the world. Question would be then ..would Froome keep up with that?
Lets still hope that today is the day when we will see some action.
Thank for Berie and yesterday. This guy has a style. |

@Guido Mukk: Yeah Bertie is the only excitement. But its a pity that he is not fighting for yellow. Sadly I dont know if he ever will.
@Avin Wargunnson: With what should we be satisfied? That Valverde, Porte crashed? Or that SKY is again so dominant? Okay I am satisfied that it seems to be really tight Tour and smal margins but in reality we all know who will win.

I like how it's all Sky's fault that they are so dominant.
It's not Astana, Quickstep or Cannondale's fault for expecting their leaders to challenge Froome in the mountains with no team support. Only AG2R have managed some support and that vanishes pretty early on.
It's not Sky fault they dominate or that Porte and Valverde crashed out. It's the other teams who know what Sky will do but fail time and time again to put together a team to challenge them.
A 3 week Grand Tour is a team event. The problem is that only Sky seem to understand that and have spent the last 10 years building teams to ride the Tour.

Like De Gendt said himself:
If they don't give him supercombativitée this year, they never will.
Then someone said: they'll give it to Barguil.
And he answered: I know.

Is Sky "so dominant" ? Not compared to what we have seen before. Froome will win, but Sky have not been that dominating, considering Movistar have been so..oo bad, BMC lost Porte, Astana has Aru but no Fuglsang & Cataldo to help him, Martin lost time in Porte crash, and the gaps is unbelievable small this time.
One of the best TFD I have seen for years, even with all those riders out, that could have made it much better. (to many to mention - the curse of this years tour)

if it wasn't for Frenchies it could've only been between de Gendt and Contador...

Yes and No. If you can buy the best players on the market the rest can never challenge you in a proper way or is it a lot harder. Because your team does not have such big potential. Maybe its not unrealistic but its definitely hard to do.
Its not Sky fault its how it is because cycling environment does not have a good set-up. Maybe Tinkov was right about that. Some changes (e.g. salary cap) would be more than convenient.

But De Gendt is just doin his breakaway thing. There is more to it than just that. Barguil and Contador would deserve it more imo

Strange strategy from Astana, 4 riders in the break, max two left to help Aru

Can anybody explain to me why Buchmann is again not in a break like this. What's the point of getting dropped from the Sky train with 10k to go for the 10th time.

Some day "Team China not yet invented car" will dominate TDF, and we will all think back with tears in you eyes on how close it was back in 2017.

Would be great to see Lotto NL seal two big TT GT stages after Van Emden
