How the F... in Hell is it possible to reach your stage goals in Pro cyclist

ex. Ride in breakaway 65/130 km. in the last 130km on the stage.

Fine i do i breakaway when there was 130km to go.

i did like 45km and then the peleton wheeled me back in.

i lost 7min to the entire field.

So tell me, how is this even possible, to reach those goals?

This game is the same as every year.
AI vs AI Breakaway = Breakaway can go almost to finish
AI vs You Breakaway = AI wheels me back in, very very fast.

when does Cyanide hire good AI Developers Smile
its not that difficult.

Don't know what difficulty you're playing on but on Very Hard (or whatever the second hardest one is) I've been good with breakaways on hilly/mountain stages. As long as no one in the break is too close to the overall standings then i'ts often got quite close and i've achieved the objectives. I've also won 3/4 stages from breakaways.

The one problem i have had with breaks though is how easy it is to get away with no working. If it's a large part of flat before/between climbs i often use that to save energy for the climbs. I think the other riders need to be able see what i'm doing better and either stop working or attack and leave me to chase down. Only time riders stop working is when the pace is set too high

You have to breakaway right at the start to reach it. Get in the first Group and you'll be good.

So what you say is.
for my Mission to success, i actually need to be in the first breakaway ?

even though its only 65km within the 130 last km. on the stage?

i cant do that if i am a stage racer..
dosnt seems logic at all.
so maybe Cyanide needs to fix something with that.

youre not supposed to always be 100% successful in your assignment or even half the time

its supposed to be difficult
if you are successful even half the time your team manager will love you

I've survived with a breakaway a couple of times with my pro cyclist on extreme. When there's a strong wind (20+, it can develop in really strong winds) i always try to break away, because the pack could rip to pieces when chasing in the last 20 km's and leaders will fall behind, causing a team to quit helping the other teams to reel in the BOTD.
When i'm not a GC contender with my climber i also go on the attack on flat stages. You're no danger as a climber so you have more chance to make it in the BOTD.

And indeed, for the 65 of last 130km's, easiest to get it is to break away right from the start and mostly you'll survive long enough. If that's not possible, find another way to make your team manager love you, by getting the mountain or points jersey for example. I always try to be in the break in the first stage, collecting points and KOM points, gets you a head start, making your sponsor happy and earning EXP for getting good results Smile

I have been doing quite well when it comes to breakaways with my pro. Usually make sure to go with the first breakaway, and almost every time I get the 130 km accomplished. Been getting some other good results from the breakaways too.

As a stage racer early on in the career you need to get noticed any way that you can, and breakaways is a good way to do that. Sometimes one succesful day of breakway, mean you are in a great position in the general classification.

Can look on my youtube career for more information.

yea be sure to go with the 1st breakaways, or for example if you cant do it, and you are a climber, wait for the first climb and go then

and then it is up to you, increase the speed if you think the field will get you before finishline.

usually the breakaways stop about 20km from the finish cause they see that the field is coming very fast. if you have enoff power then, try to breakaway again, and hope you will make it.
