That does not look like "misinformation" right...
Good that i dont buy it this year, because my usual tactics could be thrown out of the window.

I just tried. I played LBL with QS myself, actively left Martin and Alaphilippe out of the squad. Gilbert had a higher heartrate on every climb than Jungels and Brambilla. The strange thing was that even when I was dotting on 87 effort with Gilbert, which should use his 82 hill, right, weaker riders were passing him left and right. In the end, I barely cracked the Top 20 while Jungels, who was riding on automatic until the final 3km finished 7th. Now that may just be me being bad at the game, but Jungels was almost always pretty close to Gilbert in terms of position, and he wasn't being protected, yet he had more yellow and green bars towards the final kilometers. All that on hard. Gilbert had +1, Jungels +2.
Interestingly enough, Michal Kwiatkowski, by far the worst climber left in the main group, won the whole thing. Other than that, Uran was the worst climber with 76 in 10th place. Wellens and Rui Costa 12 and 13, Froome 21, but obviously not as a captain.
€dit: To take it one step further, I played the Amstel Gold Race, again with Gilbert. To exclude the possibility of just me not managing the fitness correctly, I let Brambilla protect Gilbert the entire race. Here's what the fitness looked like 8 kms from the finish. Also notice Jungels, who was once again riding on automatic...
€dit 2: Just to really make sure it's not me just messing up ...
Nice. Were there attacks? Bunchsprint? |

In the first LBL, six riders got away in the finale, two of them distanced the other four in the final sprint. In AGR, only Kwiatkowski really attacked and couldn't keep it up, so more than 50 riders sprinted for the win. In the second LBL, there were a few attacks in the final kilometers, but I shut all of them down with Dan Martin.

So the new hill/mountain stat comes in at effort 86+. Am I only one that when my rider (Porte) is climbing at effort 86 or above, those yellow and red bars are draining very quick. Wouldn't last very long if effort has to be 86+.
For me this is a major turning point in the series. This game used to be fun from 07-13. And now I have a pc that can actually run this game on full settings, the gameplay is shite. |

Well, well, well.
Just won the Canadian double (GP de Quebec and Montreal) with my pro cyclist in his second year at 74 hill.
Won Quebec by a few inches, BUT took victory at Montreal by more than 2:30.
Game on hill stages are far too easy as usual! |

Mountain stat? Difficulty? Fitness? Daily form?

Oh yeah.
Forgot to mention the other results through this rich vain off form for my pro cyclist related to the hill/mountain stat:
1st: Otzal Pro Classic
1st: GP de Quebec
1st: GP de Monntreal
3rd: World Championships TT (74 TT, which had mountainous/hill parts in the final 8km)
2nd: Giro di Lombardia
All races were played on extreme except the TT (hard) because I suck at them .
I had 79 mountains, as stated before (extreme difficulty for most), 90+ fitness for most of them and only a few days with positive daily form throughout the 40 days
This was all in just more than a month and gained 550 xp points or so during this time. |

I even enjoyed 14-16 as well, but yeah this is shit.
Also, even if your PC should handle it pretty well, some stages(mostly P-R or LBL) should still have a damn low framerate, which is a bummer.

Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Tom Boonen has no hill stat anyway, so it won't affect him

New stories from cyanide.
tl;dr: Guy wins LBL on extreme with 85 MO / 50 HI. Cyanide guy said it's because of wind and cheated stats.
I checked. Today is not the first of April.

I was about to mention that. I really hope this is not the best representative Cyanide has to offer to the community.
He even talks about SPRINT even though 1) they admitted the stat is broken and
2) HE DOESN'T EVEN SPRINT until he has already won...
And 17-30 km/h tail wind obviously shifts any race in the world to the pure climbers. How did we dare to forget.
For anyone who doesn't want to check the video, it's 75 flat, 72 in all relevant stats except for 77 in sta/res/rec. Far from an unrealistic advantage over puncheurs.
And yeah obviously everyone else was too tired to use the "punch" = hill stat, it's because MO is too important. That's exactly what we are criticizing, you dense...

the guy from cyanide doesn't know what he's talking about unfortunately
I just did the same thing on plouay and fleche wallon, lowered Dayer's stats even more so he surely can't blame it on cheated secondary stats. Uploading them as we speak. |

After reading some posts about how easy it is to win a hilly race with pure climbers on extreme difficulty, i decided to have a go with Jan Hirt in the Amstel Gold Race. I used the default database to get the "best" gameplay experience.
I wasn't surprised at all about the result. Seems pretty realistic to me:

So the game is pretty unplayable now, even worse than the last?
Damn, i would really give them my money if they'd had just implemented the 2015 hill stat after the 2016 gameplay disaster.
That strong tailwind messes up the sprints is an old problem that at least got better the last years, now even this is bad again.
Why isn't there a way to automatically calculate the MO/HI ratio of everey ascent in that game? |

The last one was fine to me. The current one is unplayable.
