Well, he was superb in the time trial, but also the strongest in the mountains imo. Why? He cought every attack they threw at him, except for Fuglsangs attack. Fuglsang was fresh, could just hang in the wheel and follow, until it was his turn. Porte couldn't or wouldn't follow, we don't know, but i think Porte was physically the strongest rider in the Dauphiné, but just couldn't follow every single attack on his own. Astana had an tactial advantage they played well.
Great performance by Fugl though, being in that spot and doing it. Curious to see if Fugl still has this form in the TdF or that he just had his peek.
Apart from the sprint where he pulled Porte, Froome and Aru to the finish line and the last stage where he put over a minute into Porte.

This, I despise.
This was a 2014 Dauphine style win. DOES ANYONE DISPUTE THAT TALANSKY WAS THE STRONGEST?!
Just no....this genuinely wants me to never watch cycling ever again. There is so much more to cycling than the final results (although they do matter). This is not the Tour, this is a race where riders want to see where they are at, and if they can win it they will.
Onto July! |

This is a pointless discussion but.. practically Fuglsang won the race with the bonus sec. There he won 20 (in total) vs 6 for Porte. Anyway the bonus sec. are part of the game, BUUT Porte rode the course faster with 4 seconds. Argo..was a bit stronger.
About the last stage I think he was also the strongest, he had to follow every attack and maybe had a bad moment at the end of the penultimate climb. He had to pull alone for 30 km., didn't have monster Kwiat in the valley. and despite this effort, he rode the final climb in Par with Fuglsang.
The Dane had an amazing ride himself, best of his career but LRP was stronger. |

I hadn't considered the bonus seconds

Porte was the strongest because he could not follow Fuglsang #pcmdaily using logic.
Contador was also stronger than Fuglsang because he beat him on time trials, everyone was stronger than Fuglsang! #pcmdaily using logic.
Fuglsang was just very lucky on the 3 mountain stages! #pcmdaily using logic. |

You will see in the Tour, how Fuglsang will barely get a Top10. He had mostly more room, since he's not a danger. Even fucking Talansky won the Dauphine in 2014. He was also not the strongest, but he was allowed to go for it on the last stage as well.

Yes, Fuglsang was lucky with to be the fastest rider, on all increases, on all 3 mountain stages. |

Very low even for you.
