Welcome home Lucas
Lucas Schädlich, one of the first riders signed for the team when it was still called Telenor-SAS had returned home, after riding for Bacardi and Aegon he is back where he belongs!
Lucas left the team in a deal that brought in Martijn Keizer, funnily enough he rode with Keizer last season. Now however he's back. The price was steep at 1.000.000, but the team feels he is worth every penning.

Great start of the season
After the disappointing relegation last year the team decided to start the season down under with the double-header Down Under Classic and Tour Down Under.
Down Under Classic was lead by Rick Zabel, who had Archbold, Buchmann, Postlberger, Predatsch, Schorn, Willwohl and Zepuntke as support. Rick was seen as one of the outsiders for the race but the team really believed in him and we participated in keeping the break of the day within striking distance. When the sprint started we had one of the strongest trains with Postlberger, Zepuntke, Archbold and Schorn in front of Zabel
Unfortunatly our train had a bad corner and fell a bit behind, but Zabel still managed a great 4th place and with Schorn finishing 11th it was a great race for the team.
In Tour Down Under we sent Flügel as leader and Zabel as sprinter. They were supported by Buchmann, Dieteren, Preidler, Schorn, Willwohl and Zingle. Yet again a strong team, and it showed.
On the first stage Zabel had a great sprint, finishing second on a photo-finish
On stage 2 the terrain didn't really fit Zabel nor Flügel, but Flügel participated in the ending, finishing 8th and showing promise for the coming stages.
Stage 3 was a stage for the puncheurs, but we knew it would not be the stage to decide the GC, so instead we controlled the pace of the leading croup and the 19 best riders finished together.
Stage 4 ended in a bunch sprint and our train did a great job putting Zabel in a great position
Unfortunately Zabel didn't have the best legs of the day, finishing 4th. Still a good stage by the team.
On the 5th stage however the fun really started. We knew before the race started that it would be won on Willunga, and Flügel proved he was the strongest. Our squad held the favorites together and the Flügel placed himself on McCarthy's wheel.
He followed all accelerations and won the last sprint in his German Champions jersey. The first victory of the season putting him first in the GC aswell!
On the last stage the break won right before the sprinters and we could celebrate race victory for Flügel, he also finished 3rd in the KoM competition.
The 2 races Down Under was our only races in January, and what a January! We are well on our way to having a great season.

Big mistake this year by selecting 2 cobble goal with Zepuntke dissapointing: Goal results:
Int. Osterreich Rundfahrt (HC) Win Cost: 5 4th (Monsalve)
Strade Bianche (HC) Top 5 Cost: 4 2nd (Flügel)
Tour of the Battenkill (HC) Top 5 Cost: 4 23rd (Zepuntke)
Rheden GP (HC) Top 5 Cost: 4 15th (Zepuntke)
Team Standings Win Cost: 6 WIN

The future of Wiesenhof-Andritz
Following the promotion to PT after winning the PCT planning for next season has already started. Wiesenhof-Andritz still has the foundation from the team that relegated 2 years ago, and it will probobly be some changes following the promotion. The main sponsors, both Wiesenhof and Andritz will stay and hope to continue the development of the team.
The team heading into the off-season looks like this:
Trough the last months there has been several rumours from the management of the team. Listed up they are as follows:
1) All riders have a price and can be sold if the right offer comes along
2) Venezuelan Yonathan Monsalve is rumoured as missing spanish speaking riders on the team, most likely he is looking for a new team
3) Alexandar Flügel might be looking for new challanges after leading the team for 5 seasons
4) The team might looking at adding more international riders. At the moment only 5 of 21 riders are not from Germany or Austria. The manager stated that results are more important than nationality after promotion, however atleast 50% of the team should be from Austria or Germany.
5) The team is expected to look for 1 rider that can really pose a challange in the big races, and are willing to sacrifice depth for it.
It will be interesting to see where this takes us. First it will be WC and NC and the team really hope to grab the German/Austrian jerseys

Great looks of the team, and the depth looks great even for WT! Add 1-2 clean leaders and you'll have a very successful year in PT!

Congrats on dominating the PCT this season.
There's a few guys on your squad that I'd love to have myself so depending on budget we might try and get one or two of them come transfers.

You're training Buchmann as a hilly rider? Damn
He was going to be a perennial transfer target as climberv1 beast
Congrats on the great season. Promotion was never in doubt - instead the question was always going to be how you'll continue in PT. Going for one big rider is surely interesting and i don't know which one you'd target but you obviously have a strong base to directly bounce back into the upper half of the rankings if you succeed in getting that one big dog for the big wins.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Looking good after promotion and having a rider 80+ on all terrain is always a great start GL in transfers and you should have enough to survive |

Big (late) congrats for the PCT title, you have done it with style, but that was not a big surprise, seeing your pool of riders, that is almost PT caliber. I also think that parting ways with Monsalve should be a priority, he is not a PT GT leader...so that opens a nice space for 1-2 great PT leaders. Question is, do you like Moldova?
Good luck with you off season moves!

2017 Jersey
Having promoted both main sponsors decided to stay with the team, however the team needed to refresh its jerseys and the job fell to the famous designed The_Hoyle. The Wiesenhof-green was kept on the jerseys and the team will hopefully still be easy to spot in the peloton wearing his fantastic work
The team (or rather Matthias Brändle) managed to win the Austrian TT championships, and in all TTs the coming year he will wear the following jersey
