Well, not to be a dick, but I've been mad throughout all the classics about riders not treating COBBLED climbs as such by avoiding the cobbled parts wherever possible, and that is what you get.
(obviously not a new phenomenon nor is it only a few riders doing it, but still)

Yes. plus UCI introduced the rule with the sidelines for a reason bc there have been way to many crashes with spectators in the northern classics sigh.
