Team SKY even can not show a will. It shows no respect to race organizers and to to race itselfs. 26 minutes tell u something. |

Very impressive by Valverde, though a Pantano win would've been cool.

It has actually gotten better the last few stages. Almost a proper race now - huge time differences at least.
Valverde is still the best rider in the world and the best of his generation. |

This years Catalunya was good indeed. Valverde clearly dominated it, the strongest. Also Marc Soler was really good, just like David Gaudu. |

Marc Soler is the revelation of the race, he has been monstrous and was robbed a 2nd place by the organisation. Reminds me of Quintana in 2012.. was also very good in P-N.
Gaudu is just insane, climbing that well as a neo. |

Anyone believing that Valverde has chances of winning the Tour? |

Nah, even i don't. I don't see him winning a hill classic either, he is the strongest but not the luckiest i tell you.

Really superb by Valverde. Especially up the Lo Port.
Doesn't matter what and what he doesn't win.
His riding will light up any race no matter what.
Kinda worried about the time after Valverde and Conti retire.
Will we be left with these boring SRM starring robots? |

There is always in theory a chance for a man like Valv but generally, no, especially since Quintana is present.

I like to see Valverde fail as much as the next man but if this performance is anything to go by we might have to start seriously considering it:
That said Froome and Contador not far off either. Let's see what happens this year but could be that something new is doing the rounds with these performances...rest, nutrition, good training that kind of thing...

He's not managed it in his career to date. No reason to think he can suddenly do it at age 37. He'll be in the top 5 or so as usual but he won't win. He won't even be the leader in his own team for a start, unless something happens to Quintana at the Giro.

Can Valverde win the Tour? Well, Horner won the Veulta. Guess it will depend what drugs different teams take come July
I wouldn't say Valverde going well now is an indication of his GT form. Valv always goes well in nearly every race whilst some of the more GT focused racers are still building themselves up slowly.
Froome down in 30th, we're not writing off his July are we. So lets not overhype others because of recent results.

You are telling Riis not to overhype his idol? You would probably have better chance with bringing the sun down from the sky.

Would you say Valverde is up there with the greatest ever stage racers never to win the Tour?
