If you think that Benchmarks on a test system in a perfect test enviroment are already proof, I feel sorry for you. Yes, the stats will probably not change too much, but what about reliability for example? an i5 or an i7 is basically indestructible, if you are not stupid.

Indestructible in what? Reliability? AMD has lacked in firepower for many years but they were far from unreliable processors

Bulldozer CPUs were quite problematic. But only because something was good/bad, doesn't mean it stays that way. I'm just sceptical because normally there's a drawback, when you can buy more for less.

More like Intel overpriced their CPUs so you lost the idea of what real prices should be. That's what monopolies do.
And AMD had to undercut their prices to catch media attention and market share, if Ryzen failed AMD would probably be dead in CPU market.
I await real life perfomance as indeed benchmarks can mislead, but I'm super optimistic.
P.S. 1800X just broke WC multithread on Cinebench by almost 100 points by group of enthusiasts. After the shit that Intel has been giving for few years it's hard not to be super excited.

Don't get me wrong, I'm also super-excited, but couldn't Intel just drop prices massively to be back in the game again?

They could, but that would look rather silly. It would show they were ripping off customers.
I predict prices won't move much but the new 14nm systems will be released much faster and much cheaper, Intel will probably claim some super optimized new method that lead to price reductions..
At least we finally got a decent competition. Market at end of 2000s was almost 50/50 I believe. Now is like 85/15. Hopefully Ryzen allows AMD to even it out a little bit mor.e

I hope that everything you just said, will happen. We'll see.
