Well a 5th place warrants custom kit in the worlds. Against the best in the world on a very hard race in heat and cross winds I'd say that is pretty good. And now noone can complain about his kit.
Why is this so obnoxiously important to you?

how so? considering I wouldn't have put him on my shortlist for riders for the worlds and him having no pro win since he started in 2008 (which is an langkawi stage), tragic wouldn't be the first word that comes to mind.

You dont deserve gold when you have six guys in the group of 20 and not get better than bronze, sorry mate.
As I said, they deserved Gold for the first 240 km. For the last 10km they should have gotten nothing and should be slammed by the belgian media too. Bronze is an okay-ish mix of both. Sagan as a rider was great, but Slovakia really didn't do anything at all for the race itself up to the last kilometers.
Okay, i get it. But you can only do so much with 3 guys...btw. Kolář was also pulling for quite a time.

Because when someone wins by accident, it sucks, i agree with Riis.
Btw how do you enjoy the 2nd title for your "favourite" rider?

Oh man. I'm so happy that Sagan won it. But tbh wasn't expecting only 20 riders in front group. |

Accident? It's not like 30 guys crashed in front of him and he went and took the title.

Are you serious? A random domestique shouldn't wear the rainbow jersey for a whole season, its reserved for the best riders in the world. Not a by accident-attack from Leezer in the desert of Qatar. |

If he was strong enough to hold up in that spot then he totally deserves it. |

I was half-joking.
I know it is impressive to even be in that group, but i am no fan of outsider won, lets all cheer mentality, never was. I like when strongest rider wins.

No. Just no.
The rainbow jersey is for whichever rider was the best on 1 day. Just like the title of MSR winner in for whichever rider was best on that day. If Leezer won today, he was the best, and would therefore deserve the jersey.

Still quite impressive to see Sagan win again. Much better than Boonen IMO as at least we'll now see the rainbows all year round

Sagan is definitely world champion worthy glad he won and not someone like Viviani or Matthews.
Bronze for Tommeke
LoL what's your problem? Have respect. Viviani is DESERVEDLY Olympic Track Champion.
Though Nizzolo was the leader for us, not Viviani.
