Huge mistake by Yates, IMO. He's going full gas in the final part of this climb, but has left in his group only the "leaders"
How was it a mistake? Going full gas just before the summit taking 30 seconds of time and the descent to recover with a quality descender leading the group in Sanchez. Seems like a good tactic in this race situation
because a lot of domestiques were dropped |

Is SKY paying everyone else to help Froome back into it?
Well Orica do have a reason to work so it's no surprise that they are
You are right, everyone do have a reason to help, it's just funny to see Froome do nothing, while Yates puts himself up front. |

Don't think its all too smart for Yates to accelerate there - only leaders more or less.
Well he took 30 seconds off the lead and has the descent to recover, some will make it back on and to be honest that group had a heap of passengers who wouldn't of worked anyway

Just because they hadn't worked doesn't mean they could of worked, they were all dropped pretty easily from what I noticed and the descent allows riders to make it back on who have the legs to work

And you already have the 2'30 gap! Just in 5km |

No problem with alliances, it's major part of cycling. SKY was found out today and Froome looks really desperate, asking around for help. Just funny it's Astana to help out Sky.

Maybe it'll get back to three minutes, attackers look to be a solid unit. Quintana very lucky to have Contador tho.

Yep and? All the Doms you guys were saying who can work are back on so we'll see if they actually have anything to give. I don't think Yates did the wrong thing but what do I know?

Contador just as fortunate to have Movistar. Either of them not there, the attack is off. |

I can kind of understand why Astana are working, it's most likely Scarponi's last chance to do something GC wise at a GT. It might annoying but I can understand it
