A few days ago, I took part in a club event. Right the day after GVA won the Olympic gold medal. The ride was 241.7km long, had around 1650m elevation and we managed to go 29.45km/h on average.(Strava says I was slower, but I trust my Cycling Computer on that one) I'm still pretty happy with that ride. It had everything. Short punchy climbs, cobbles of death(no shit: those cobbles were worse than the ones at Paris-Roubaix, I was told by a team-mate, but luckily it were only 3 parts with 50m each) I wasn't dropped and I even lead-out the sprint and still finished well inside the top 10, out of 50 starters. I really had a great day. I was really struggeling from far out though. After around 120kms I got stomach cramps, then my arms started to hurt, as well as my ass, leading to me almost getting dropped. I was jojo-ing like Froome once in the vuelta, but on flat roads. Then, around 7km before the finish, some random guy attacked. No-one wanted to pull, so I went to the front and pulled him back with a guy from another team. Then I lead the peloton into the final 3 kms and then hell started to get loose. lots of guys attacked. I just kept going and finished 8th. Really really nice event. Just around 8.5h of riding time.

Never actually felt this empty after a ride. Damn depressing out there, damn nice now! My HR was out of this world today, I really, really suffered...
Anyways. I've completely fallen in love with this shoe (Spez S-works 6), but its obviously very pricey. I like all the colours equally since our kit is red and my bike is black/white, so all the colours match very well with the colour scheme which I find pretty important (extra 5 watts).
So, I've found the red one on a pretty big discount. But before throwing so many money after new shoes, I'd just like to know if anyone have any experiences with them. They look sooooo good.

Ain't there some unwritten cycling laws that say that kit has to be predominantly black? And that cycling shoes have to come from Italy?
On topic, of course I checked the link and all I can say is:

Not sure, those shoes look pretty awful tbh. Are you sure you want to base your shoe buy on the kit you are currently wearing. Red does not go with everything but I am pretty much a pro white shoes in any regard and it's your buy and you look at the shoes the entire day so you should go for it if you love them.

And I considered shoes to be part of "kit" but a quick research turned up
that kit is just clothing, excluding shoes. My bad. Ain't no native speaker.

My dad is addicted to cycling and could've made quite the professional cycist, I'm certain.
He has a WC jersey and wears it very rarely. He says he'll only wear it whenever he feels incredibly strong. And, in fact, wearing the WC jersey he's never been overtaken by another cyclist. Whether on a climb, on the cobbles or the flat, he's invincible when he wears that WC jersey  (well other way around).
I've never worn it, because I wouldn't dare to |

I earned it by working and paying it, Vino LBL 10 style 
I take a nice clean nc jersey any day over most team kits, packed with sponsors and commercials. I am cyclist, not a billboard

Don't bother buying s-works 6. The difference to specialized's cheaper models are minimal, and you can surely find a pair of the models below with red colour for a much better price somewhere else. I have used specialized-shoes for the last 5 seasons, but have never cared for the top model. You should rather invest somewhere else. And the shoes do not look well no matter which colour your kit is, always go for white. |

I dont necessarily think the red is better, but its the only one on discount.
Thing is, I've fallen so much in love with the shoe that I must own it. Whether its now or whenever the new is out so I hopefully can get even more discount, I don't know. |
