Very succesfull race for the Italians as they take home two medals. Second title for Adriano Malori, as titleholder Andrew Talansky and top talent Ryan Mullen both did not achieve what they came here for.

Tour du Gévaudan Languedoc-Roussillon (2.1)
Southern France, 2 stages
Stages
i.imgur.com/TEJypJl.png

i.imgur.com/tKO5qNh.png
As we came to France with a very strong team, we immediately decided to take matters into our very own hands at stage 1. The breakaway only consisted of 1 man, which allowed Hector Saez to collect a lot of mountain points at the first two first category climbs.
i.imgur.com/TdUsHs0.png
The stage ended at the Col du Prat Peyrot, where almost our entire team came up front. Due to that, the pack contained just over 10 riders at the end. Edoardo Zardini attacked and was reeled in as Dimension Data blew the whistle because they clearly wanted to win this stage too.
i.imgur.com/3pIUkm7.png
Too bad both teams failed to do so in the end, as Sam Vandenborre and all the other guys had to acknowledge AG2R's Le Lavandier's superiority. Nonetheless a good second place to start this race with.
i.imgur.com/Cm8w2ri.png
Especially because that second place would also earn Sam the overall win in the end. Earlier in the second stage Saez had secured the KoM jersey, and Sam was our only rider to make it over the final climb with the strongest. He was no match for stage winner Sonny Colbrelli in the sprint, but his fourth place was enough to secure the points and the white jersey too. That's his and our second overall win of the season.

The road race ended with two guys of the same country on the podium too. The French dominated the race (with 3 riders coming home in the top 10) and finally got their nineth world champion, the first one since Laurent Brochard back in 1997. That way the rainbow jersey goes to Tinkoff's team, yet for the second time already in the last three years.

Tre Valli Varesine (1.HC)
Northwest Italy, 195.9 kms
i.imgur.com/xCXSDyv.png
Next we travelled to the Varese Province for the Tre Valli Varesine, a 1.HC race where a good result could still earn us important UCI points.
i.imgur.com/A99EsKP.png
Just in case the pack would treat this race as a glorified training ride, we sent Edoardo Zardini into the breakaway. Cause one never's sure.
i.imgur.com/iChDEq6.png
But their try came down to nothing and Beñat Intxausti felt so strong he attacked before having reached the final climb to Campione d'Italia.
i.imgur.com/31HGx4U.png
He held on to his gap and once again he secured a win for our team. No doubt that thinking about his loved friend Xavi Tondo another time has given Beñat Intxausti the strength to give it his all once more.

Milano - Torino (1.HC)
Northeast Italy, 195.4 kms
i.imgur.com/7fnnEeC.png
Looking at the profile of this one day race only, it perfectly could have been a Vuelta a España stage. A flat route for the biggest part of the race and two both short and steep climbs to end with. It's certainly not a coincidence that Alberto Contador took his only classic win right here.
i.imgur.com/Oqj56Zl.png
The breakaway got stranded at the first ascent, as Eder Chávarri tried to anticipate in the pouring rain. Adam Yates countered him though.
i.imgur.com/ZMNOVIx.png
And next his brother attacked, with Julian Alaphilippe giving his all, only to hold his wheel. At that very point Sergio Henao and Izagirre had resigned already. In the end Yates proved to be the strongest as Ion Izagirre held on to his place and finished just off the podium.

Thanks all, we have definitely been on fire the last couple of races. Our team starts to remind me of Will Grigg

Sparkassen Münsterland Giro (1.HC)
Northwest Germany, 198.2 kms
i.imgur.com/NxOMnDM.png
A chance for our sprinters came with the Münsterland Giro, a mostly flat race over almost 200 kms, ending in the city of the same name.
i.imgur.com/YbnCg1l.png
After a long battle, Federico Zurlo managed to join Jon Isausti and Timo Roosen in the breakaway. It had him taken over 60K to do so.
i.imgur.com/Tck3Fy3.png
They were reeled in rather early and that's why several new attacks occured. Bilbao reacted once but couldn't keep up with the attackers. No problem though as the last attack was neutralised with just over 3 kilometers to go. Manuel Martínez tried to take the others by surprise and started his leadout early. Carlos Barbero was ready to kick away.
i.imgur.com/daz89gs.png
Martínez maintained his effort until just before the red kite. At that point only some Bora guy was still able to follow our very strong duo.
i.imgur.com/wOJWbRo.png
The German Bora guy Jan Dieteren launched early, but soon already he would pay for his early start. He barely managed to hold on for fifth as Barbero earned himself the flowers for the fifth time this season.
