Only Champs Elysse left, this might be the first ever TDF that Greipel doesn't win a stage in
Well I think this years dominant sprinter in Cavendish will pull out of the race tomorrow and Kittel hasn't looked in top form so Greipel might get that stage victory in Paris
might sound a little strange, but I think Greipel has done too much Mountain training...he is (for a Sprinter-Type he is normalyy) absolutely amazing on the mountains so far, not only based on the stage in the break but also on the other mountain stages he was really strong relatively...
maybe he lacks his usual power on the pedals when it comes to speed due to 2-3kg of power package missing...
I think it's more to do with Confidence than anything else for Greipel, sprinting is a confidence game so when things are going wrong you lose confidence pretty quickly which to me looks like what's happened with him. But in saying that you could be right or it could be a mix of both

If they keep racing this hard with all the twists and turns and those little climbs to come then the proper sprinters don't stand a chance

I think Cav has a little more power with his current track build. He's certainly back to suffering on the climbs more again but perhaps that little bit more power has made the difference. As you say though winning early gives confidence and that counts for plenty too. |

Oh Rui, what have you come to? Once upon a time you were winning in Gap and Grand-Bornard, you were the best in the world, you even secured a Switzerland three-peat- now you're slogging alone through transition stages in the Juras. For Lampre.
