So I guess it will come down to a Chaves v Contador duel with some tired Tour and Olympians included

24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

I get that those photographers have to do their job, but in moments like this the only thing I can think about is: "do they have any sympathy or etiquette at all?".
I was actually quite surprised on have calmly Contador took this, even shaking fan's hand. Hopefully we gonna see him in Olympics and Vuelta. |

No "steak" as when he won the tour, probably something else which does not have the same effect on him. |

I guess Contador is thinking, if he gets some time back he will continue Tour but if Froome/Quintana get back to him, they will put 5 mins into him, certainly ending his race. So he may as well abandon and prepare for Vuelta.
Just as I said |

I know Cavendish has come out and said he will target the green and finish the race but the more I think about it the more I just don't think he will make it to Paris. I think he will be done by the 2nd rest day

Sure thing, he only won 3 GT's and several WT stage races since his comeback.

In all fairness he hasn't been as dominant post ban

Agree. I think he got dropped fast on the second "easy" climb while Sky was pacing slowly. He just isn't good enough when the climbs come.
On stage 10 all the sprinters could go together and ride hard after that first initial climb, that cavendish will probably get dropped on, and then have him dropped for the intermidiate and finishline sprint. |

Not at all, I agree, apart from the great 2014 year he had. But still he won 3 GT's, that's an achievement he deserves a minimum of respect for (no finger-pointing at you obviously)

I think that is more to do withe the talent that has come through. It isn't just two riders anymore like it was Contador and Andy Schleck.
