Nice to see Sky dominans and that Froome has fun. Tomorrow is time to smash them all, which is the easiest thing in the world for him. It is so easy that he will have to find other challenges, like playing Vanmarcke on cobbles and crosswinds last year or playing Sagan on the descent. Mountain points must of course also sprinter after, just to make it a little difficult. Next challenges must be to playing Vinokourov on Paris Champs-Elysees.
And the story ends with him playing an Armstrong in year 2021-25.
No he will never be taken and do not comeback. So he can keep his 5-10 TDF victories. I doubt he will ever win 5 Tours. At least i dont believe that it is humanly possible without massive program going on. Armstrong had still 7 victories, if he was not so stupid to make a comeback in 2009. |

Well, so here is my analysis of the stage.
Froome: Today he has shown a different aspect of himself. Maybe, he wasn't the strongest today but certainly he was the cleverest. He made the attack in the moment. If we add to his clever move his amazing ability going down the mountain, then he is a very deserved winner.
Contador: It's a total shame. He is the best Spanish rider of the 21st century and he has been great lately but this isn't his Tour. Also, his teammates are being very egoistic and they are clearly not following team orders, in case they exist. Hope he can still get a stage win in 3rd week and he goes to Vuelta.
Pinot: Disappointing. Very bad move going into the break today, wasting energy for following days and losing even more time (although GC was gonna be tough for him already).
Quintana: His only problem is that he is not brave at all. In my opinion, he was the strongest today as he could follow all the attacks of Martin, Henao and Froome. If he had attacked properly with 4 kms to go, taken Valverde and some other rivals on his wheel, then Valverde paced, he could have destroyed the others.
Sky: Great team, very well structured but they couldn't destroy enough the pack and finally it had to be Froome who made the decisive movement.
Other: Aru is proving to be a strong contender to finish in the podium in Paris. He could follow the pace and he attacked too near the finish line. I feel very confident Purito can do a nice Tour this year. He has shown to be strong to follow the other favourites, so have done Martin, Bardet, the BMCs... Also I am very surprised for the performance of Yates and Meintjes, and as the days pass, I see Yates wearing white jersey in Paris.

Why do some of you always have to bully Mars? Not nice at all. |

Here are some photos I took today on the second climb after Tourmalet:
Early breakaway with Pinot, Majka, T.Martin
Sky train
Thomas De Gendt with polka jersey
Peter Sagan, quiet and saving resources for better opportunity |

Froome is one crazy boy. Never thought he would attack in the decent today. Really shows how outstanding he is as a bike-rider. He has it all. Really looking forward to see if he can perform in tomorrows mountain-finish. Can Quintana and the others strike back? Lets hope so for the entertainments sake.
Va va Froome! |
