If you mean "freshness" system, then it isn't ! Just tested it with new career and guys, that had objective for catalunia or Paris Vasco had bad freshness on Paris-Nice and T-A... |

According to Cyanide the bad freshness is not a bug but a feature.
But the objectives and fitness planning of the helpers was fixed with this patch. |

Feature is when rider has bad freshness in the races before objective but i dont think feature is when he has bad freshness also in his objective race its most likely new bug... |

What bit is "fixed" btw?
Can I select objectives for all my riders now? I tried starting a new career and can't find how to do it, is that not the "fixed" bit?
It's unplayable for me without this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

They only fix bugs.
In PCM 2016 you can only select 3 objectives per leader. This is a feature, not a bug.
Another new feature is the possibility to assign helpers to the leaders.
This should simplify and speed up the season planning because you only have to set the goals for 5 or 6 riders and the helpers will automatically adjust to it.
I am not sure why you cannot play a career without objectives for all riders. As far as I can remember, objectives have only been introduced in PCM 2013, so how did you play the game before?
Anyway, you can use my season planner tool to assign objectives to other riders as well. Just don't overdue it or you might crash the game. |

You might get by with 5 riders as captains with their own objectives and helpers in a World Tour team with 25-30 riders, although I won't be able to make a youth/development team with young riders since I can't choose my captains (!). But start out as a Continental team and the career is broken beyond repair. It doesn't seem like Cyanide even thought about this which I find shocking. I started with Team Joker who has 11 riders and the game gives me 5 captains, 4 of which have 1 helper and the last lucky one has 2. If we're gonna be able to register a team for any race, which is usually a minimum of 6 riders, I will have 3 captains with their own helper in one race. Seems like they tested with World Tour teams and nothing else.
I hate the new system. I usually set up teams that stay the same pretty much the entire season, but not being able to chose who my captains are or how many captains I want in my team is ridiculous, Unplayable mode in my opinion.

Can't you use some of the captains as sub-captains?
Taking your example of 11 riders and 5 captains:
Declare 2 to be your race leaders and assign 3 helpers to each of them.
The remaining 3 "leaders" will have no helpers. These will be the co-leaders and you can assign the same (or similar) goals for them.
In the race you can use the sub-leaders and the helpers as helpers for your race leader.
Seeing your post I will extend my season planner tool. At the moment you can only add more leaders to your team but I will implement a feature to remove leaders. This would also make it possible to change the leaders. I will release it in about 1 hour. |

You can still go to the 'season' tab under each rider and ajust their fitness schedule manually.
And a little freshness trick: Freshness suffers before but not after an objective.
If you want your cobbles captain to play a role in TA, PN or MSR give them PN as the first objective of the season |
