I have updated the spreadsheet for the 2016 edition. I ran at least 5 tests for each type, but I still expect that there is a little more flexibility than what is shown in the spreadsheet.

As expected the differences are not big especially when considering that the 2015 caps listed are not entirely accurate. The caps generally seem random, but I think there is some kind of tradeoff between attribute caps. In any case it is very unlikely if not impossible for one rider to reach the cap in all categories for his particular rider type.
That aside, they're almost identical.
Yeah stage racers seem a little overpowered. In the 7 attempts I made they had a potential of 81 in hills and as such will always be able to match climbers uphill while soundly beating them on TTs.
Barodeurs are also a little disappointing as they are basically a poor edition Northern Classic riders. |

thanks for your work humlesnur
i can tell you they didnt change any caps. i had several careers in pcm15 with caps higher than your list and they usually fall inside the limits you list for pcm16. some limits go higher or lower than your list but its very close.
not much chance of creating riders outside narrow definitions and certainly no way of creating an incredible allrounder like kelly, moser, saronni or maertens |

My own rider, at level 17, has these stats and caps:
Stat - Current/Skill cap
FLA 66/71
MON 79/84
HIL 77/80
TTR 74/81
PRL 71/79
COB 59/66
SPR 60/64
ACC 64/70
DHI 73/75
FIG 62/70
STA 68/74
RES 71/80
REC 77/83
Stage rider, started at 19 year old with the best talent. |

That was also what I surmised, although some changes have been made e.g. the increase in recovery for stage racers. The rest of the changes, if any, however are marginal.
I agree that the limits are way to rigid. Even creating a rider like Valverde with good MON, HIL, decent SPR and average REC is not really possible.

I updated the spreadsheet. I was almost certain there would be a little more flexibility with the stage racer hill stat, but wouldn't take a guess when I did not manage to produce other results in 7 attempts.
It's probably still a little off, but should cover almost everything. Anyway, the main purpose was to test the flexibility and sadly this proves that there really isn't any as two careers with the same rider type will pan out virtually identically. |

New questions!
What happens if I decide to stop racing in a race?
I did Vlandern Classic and was helper to Kristoff (like all riders on the team), but about 60% through my rider was pretty much done. Held on for like 5-10% more of the stage with a near gone yellow bar and a limited red bar.
When my day was done, with like 70-80km to go, should I just have dropped effort to 0 and abandoned to preserve some energy or is it better to ride 60+ kilometers on cobbles with absolutely no energy? I rode in with only effort 30 or so and my rider was completely empty in both yellow, red and the green lower bar.
Also, in RDC pre-race, there's a few factors that gives your RDC a notch in a direction. It's still random afterwards, but if you start at +2, chances are you'll be in the 0-5 area, instead of negative.
Anyways, my question in this regard is: What races does my rider like? What weather?
Simon Spilak appearantly likes temperate, not sunny weather (15 degrees, cloudy) as it gives him two green arrows up pre-race and a hefty +2 in RDC before race.
I've seen my guy have a negative one arrow down both in sun and rain at 25 and 11 degrees... So what kind of weather does my guy like and why can't I influence that? If it's something to do with where you're from, as a Dane my guy should like everything that's not 28+ and sunny 21 days straight. Would also make sense if most Spanish riders like 20+ degrees and sun more than a Scandinavian rider.
Also, the races? I'm thinking my rider might have + in TdF, Vuelta and Giro, due to being a stage rider, but why can't I influence this? It kind of sucks.

Anyone know why I can as a leader control some teammates, but not all the time?,I notice when they go for bottles you can't select them for one.
Anyone know how some stats get affected more by rdc then others ?
With adding more & more tweaks to Ai over the last years ,the riders ride more irregular then ever,so riding more regular gives you more of an edge every edition, last year I won Vuelta with my sprinter on hard difficulty ,go figure. This year it's gonna be even more easy now ,it's getting ridiculous.
It's like the game I played before this:Hearts of Iron 4.You can defeat Germany or whatever as Poland,Belgium etc..

Indeed the margins are larger then in the document & the same as in pcm15,however when you look at your numbers: there's no trade-off ,some are rider caps generation are definatly better then others, there's just compensation as randomness averages out eventually.

Although I don't have PCM16, but I guess the mechanics are still the same in PCM15. If your rider is depleted of everything and still riding, he won't reach the finish line and eventually DNF after the race.
Try playing the Paris-Roubiax course, most riders won't finish and will get DNF.
Most "abandons" I've seen are from crashes, 0% effort means abrupt stop. Your rider will just stand on his bike.

Well, It's your riders daily form, but I don't know the exact translation |

Race Day Condition.
It's basically just "daily form modifier".
I'm currently riding a Giro d'Italia stage and before the stage it said my estimated RDC would be +2 due to good REC, favourite race and outstanding position in the GC.
In the race, I'm a +4.
Think of it like the higher you are before a race, the better the odds of not going too far into the negatives.
With +2, the lowest I've seen is -2. So I think it's the pre-race RDC +/-4 that makes your daily form in race. |

Is there any way to use the "dot effort" on teammates, maybe a mod or something? It would really help out with my sprinter. |

Has anybody been able to play the World championships in pro mode? For me it crashes constantly and apparently other people are having the same issue: https://pcmdaily.c...st_1180408
Edit: A friend of mine is expericing this too, so I will report it as a bug.

When you're captain of the team, you get one or more helpers to control.
Depending on how it goes it may change. I started Tour de France as a free element / team mate, won 2nd stage, took the yellow jersey, became captain and could control the entire team on 3rd stage. |

But you cannot use the dot on them. I think this is intentional because as a race leader you can tell them what to do but you cannot control them directly (steering and the dot).
Stuff like this cannot be modded |

Is it just me, or does RDC become more a problem than a possible gift when your rider gets better?
I'm currently at 80 OVR as a climber and when I have RDC+1, I have more minuses than plus and when it's 0 I have a solid minus 1 to 2 all around.
I find that disheartening. What's the point in ever training above 77'ish then?
At below 80 stats, I could often get up to +4 or +5 to my stats, now that I'm a bit higher, +1 is a very good day and +2 is like winning the lottery. |

In my experience the effect of RDC seems to be dependent on the fitness of your rider. The fitter the better a positive RDC and the less detrimental a negative RDC will be. So when really fit a -1 RDC will not effect you much if at all. I have even seen -1 RDC produce positive changes.
Conversly a +1 RDC will generally be negative with poor fitness. I have not experienced any issues in relation to rider stats. It's worth noting, though, that RDC naturally will become more of a burden for world class riders, since they are already among the best without bonuses from RDC, but might have a hard time winning with negative RDC. I.e. the bonuses become negligible whilst the disadvantages become more crucial. |

You might be right.
When I really noticed it was early in the season at LBL where my fitness was only at like 68 or so due to light training. I'm gonna ride all three grand tours, so thought he had to have super low tiredness.
Btw, how is it with tiredness? Above 25, your rider starts performing a bit weaker, but am I right (recalling from PCM15) that until 50+, it's no big issue? |
