Michael Van Stayen will sign for Evonik - ELKO at the wage of 900,000 and not the 750,000 amount of the highest bid.
Foul play was uncovered, whereby Ollfardh stopped bidding because knockout had told Ollfardh that his maximum bid was over 1 million and that he had calculated the maximum Ollfardh could bid was lower than this. knockout also suggested that there were other free agents available he could bid on instead. Subsequently, having left the Van Stayen bidding early, Ollfardh did place late bids on free agents which may well not have been available had the Van Stayen bidding continued in the natural fashion - with the teams involved in those riders therefore suffering as a consequence of knockout's actions. This has been discussed amongst the MG Assistant user group, with the agreement that action needed to be taken. This also led to yesterday's transfer rules post.
The 900,000 wage was calculated as Lierse SK's expected maximum bid, plus the minimum increase. Evonik - ELKO must also pay a fine of 450,000, which is calculated as 50% of Van Stayen's final wage.
For the record: I think this is kinda hard on knockout. He simply stated some facts to me. If I'm playing my boardgame night, I'm constantly telling other people what to do as well, it feels like part of the game. Though I understand it's against the rules of the MG, it was still my own decision to not follow knockout's bluff and target other riders. So while a punishment seems fair, I think this double punishment is over the top.
