Why are you writing about Quintana vs Froome because of this stage?
Contador said in May that probably he will not be good enough at the criterium du dauphine. |

I love how people still have learned nothing after all those years when it comes to Grand Tours and settle for the winner before a race even starts.

Froome or Contador is like choosing between pest and cholera. |

I just don't believe in Contador anymore for the TDF. Giro and Vuelta, sure thing but TDF nah, not against these opponents. We will see if i'm right in 5 weeks or so. |

The interesting question now is how Contador won the prologue, yet, 5 days later, was rather unspectacular going up against the same competitors? Could be many reasons, but in my opinion, it doesn't look that good. He should be able to follow.
Anyways, lets see the next couple of stages, especially tomorrow. Thats a more 'normal' mountain stage, altho this type of climb in theory should suit the likes of Contador better than Froome and Porte, fx. |

Difference is this was Nibalis way of preparing. Contador doesn't prepare like that. |

Contador is great throughout the year when he is on fire, its pretty much a case of apples/oranges. If it had been any other rider, no problems, but coupled with him winning 5 days ago to now getting dropped rather easily, its somewhat worrisome. I know one place on the Internet where the Tour 2016 is already done - and its not here, but the Contador-thread on CN.

Difference is: Contador has had a successful spring campaign with wins and podiums so he has done his stuff in winter and enjoyed success, unlike Nibali in 2014. He has now returend to racing after two months off. Give him time. Dauphine is not his goal, it never has been.

I can just agree with the arguments the people said above me. Traditionally Contador always lacks a bit of shape at Dauphine (that's why never won it) but has top form when Le tour starts. To out rule him now is the total wrong consequence after today, not to mention that it also just could be a bad day.
Same thing goes with Porte, who still has to prove that he can keep this level three weeks long. |

Agreed but I was refering generally not just re Bertie. Wouldnt even count out Aru and T-Bo just because they dont have it at Dauphine |

Exactamente. Contador was well prepared, otherwise, you aren't sprinting up to Les Gets. Nibali wasn't, its a completely different case. |

He was great throughout the year, and he was on fire 5 days ago. So obviously it's his case.
Funny enough, Portugal wasn't much different either when he got dropped by some dude Roglic, no one had heard at the time.

TDF has all the time been Froome vs Quintana, with Froome always wins.
Only Contadope fans believe Contadope, he is going to lose very large for six years in a row.

Then I agree, as a general rule of thumb, it doesn't matter that much. You can be as bad as Aru and Pinot and still to very well. |

I don't think I'll ever convince you here. You are obviously subjective, as am I, but I try to stay as sober as possible. I know Contador is a very delicate topic.
I haven't read it, waiting to grab me a coke and use 30 minutes scrolling trough pages upon pages of doom and the end of the universe and laugh my arse off |

Also, can we point out one thing: Froome was smart today. He "baited" Contador |
