Damn that.
I hope they find new sponsor..they are well balanced fun team to watch on every race
ASO and UCi should wake up.

They've got over a year to find a sponsor and have been somewhat successful, I think they'll find it easy.

Not a good look for the Colombians
Alberto Beltran, cycling's 'king of doping', arrested in Colombia https://www.theguardian.com/sport/201...CMP=twt_gu

"According to Colombia’s national police, he was the head of a distribution network supplying high performance athletes – especially cyclists – with doping products."

Hopefully it would really settle the Henao case once and for all. Idk, but I don't trust Henao. Who else's name might we see mentioned?

Unless you find some direct links, it is how no importance apart from reckless speculation who it might be, so no, it most likely won't.

I would imagine it was the colombian scene, not the high paid colombians in Europe

He used to work for Café de Colombia in the early 90s, then he worked with some european teams, Selle Italia, Kaiku, Liberty Seguros, Xacobeo Galicia and was involved in every doping case that those team had.

He went to Barhein to "work with horses" but some say he was hired to power Barhein's athletes for London2012, obviously internal colombian cycling is doomed because of people like him, he's not the only one here, where pros and amatuers are doped in big numbers.

2001, 2004, 2006, 2009 were hard years for him, riders from the teams he worked for, were caught doped, and himself was caught in Italy with banned things in his car and even in Barajas airport.

Here's his story in spanish

OGE won't go under anyway as Gerry Ryan has the money to keep them afloat if they do struggle to find a main sponsor.
Also for anybody who is lamenting Orica leaving cycling as a sponsor needs to remember what Orica actually do, they are a chemical and explosives manufacturer who have a terrible environmental record including multiple massive Government fines for several different chemical spills. So I am far from sad to see the back of this dirty company

Rudi Altig has died, the most prolific German cyclist before Ullrich, maybe ever.

2016 sucks. Not just since today, but every day even more.

Indeed sad news, sacre rudi will be missed.

In more uplifting news. Taylor Phinney actually believes he could win a medal in Rio. This must be a joke by him, right?

Why wouldn't Phinney be a chance of a medal in Rio? He seems to be on his way back from that injury and is a quality TT'r when on form, I also think a few more top guys will drop out of the TT before Rio like TVG did a couple of weeks ago.

But doesn't he keep repeating the old lines, yet he has no form to show for. I can win PR, I am better than ever.. so many interviews lately that sound motivated but nothing comes out of it (TT nationsl really wasn't a challenge when you look at the competition..)

Phinney has got the talent. His recent injury was pretty damn severe. 9/10 guys would've called quits on pro cycling after that. I don't know, just something in the way he races and rides a bike tells me he's such a natural.

Of course, doesn't really have the results yet which many were expecting. Doesn't mean it won't come.

Yes I'm well aware of his injury, that's why I find it puzzling that he keeps saying he's in great shape etc, when results clear say he isn't. He is not doing himself any favors with this interviews imo.

Yea, for sure. But does he actually say he's in good shape? Or does he say something along the lines of he's improving, getting better, building up, etc?

Anyway, another promising rider who hasn't lived up to expectations - Lachlan Morton. Lots of talent, but seems like he made the step-up to WT a bit too early in his career. I still think he's a contender for GT top 10s if he gets another shot.

I don't blame him, I know the stress of racing bikes as an amateur - can't imagine what it's like for 21/22 year-old at WT.

He had some other issues that weren't mentioned in that piece and really needed to step back and just be happy again, I fully respect his tough decision to step back and find his feet again both in cycling and more importantly his personal life

I didn't know about that. He's a really talented guy and you never get that far by being lazy. Really hope to see him get an opportunity again!

Madrid court rules asking blood bags from Operation Puerto to be handed over to authorities for investigation. No further details yet (not that I found at least).

Well the Spanish authorities have done there job by delaying this for just over 10 years now, I have massive doubts that much will come from this

Yeah I'm pretty sure no suspensions would come from it, they have cyclists names but not the confirmation it was there blood so I guess it's possible that they might match it but I highly doubt it, which is a pity as it would be interesting to see how the Schleck's and Cancellara would respond. What annoys me is the other athletes such as footballers and tennis players will most likely never get named.

Edit: Actually there were more than 23 cyclists named
