Brambilla pulling for Pozzovivo! Amazing fair play.

not like he got his own GC place to defend

I doubt that's why Brambilla was pulling. If he would have cared that much about the GC, he wouldn't have done what he did for Jungels yesterday.

I think it was more due to the fact they were team-mates at Bardiani. But that is just a guess.

The ex teammates idea sounds plausible but Brambilla also might have his eyes on finishing inside the top 15 which is has shown he can do so maybe it's a bit of both

I don't really think that Brambilla focuses on the GC at all now. He had pink. Now he helps Jungels as much as he can.

I actually expect Brambilla to finish in the top 10 this Giro, but after gaining time via another breakaway.

What a tremendous performance today..
The underdogs needs some serious hails for the entertainment! Smile

Yes, he just needs to lose a few kgs. Then he will be able to contend for the overall win, just as Ullrich did.

Jungels and Amador really the bright spots this year. Amazed by Amador so far, a super complete rider and one of the most loyal you can find. I very much doubt he can stay on the podium, but he has sneakily become one of my favs. Also rides the belgian classics, what a man.

Have anyone seen Majka? Seems like whenever he rides GC, he hides and after he is done hiding, he hides again. Zubeldia-esque, passive and extremely conservative, not only in this race, but every GT he has entered riding GC. Hopefully he will prove me wrong.

jungels is already much skinnier than ullrich ever was. he's lighter and much taller. he won't lose much more

he will probably progress naturally with age not with weight loss

Indeed. Riis don't play with weight loss again. He will loose partly he's TT power also then. Like Ullrich was strong guy..powering TT and up to mountains.
Jungels is already different style rider much thinner already.

I will refer to my post above Guido which I am sure you read. You just need to be a proper dickhead again. Why?

I recall Tom Dumoulin did decently in the Vuelta ITT. I think he was 3-4 kg lighter at that point.

There is only approx 2 kg between Jungels and Ullrich?
Jungels just looks a bit skinnier because he is 6 cm higher.

But when I say "reminds" please do not interpret: "alike".

If you are old enough to remember Ullrichs style and body shape you would partly agree.
If you've just have seen some videos on youtube of course you disagree.

Thanks for dickhead. I just wont agree your logic..but more hills makes stages fun..fuck the sprinters nobody likes mass sprint anyway.
Example 2. It's easy to make rider a GC climber. Just drop weight. Life is not that simple holy hole.

he's taller and lighter. that makes him a lot skinnier. he can't lose any more
ullrich was very muscular. his thighs especially were huge. jungels isn't.

and the style is different too. jungels uses a smaller gear with more rpm. about the only similar thing similar is that he hunches over the bike in the same way, holding the bars in the same place, but only when he's pushing hard.

You also need to take into account that Ullrich's time you could go full nuclear doping while in today's peloton its much more in the micro dosing type program. It allowed hulking beasts like Ullrich and Indurain climb so well

Next time I'll add a smiley then. Hopefully it will be obvious to you that it was sarcastic since Ullrich isn't exactly known for being super light. My bad. The messenger is always as fault, especially at the internet.
I just don't understand why you need to quote everything I say and question is, seems like Im not allowed to have a simple opinion. You really have an axe to grind for some reason I don't know.
Anyways, Im not really here for the cycling debates anymore due to people like you who is ready whenever I feel the need to criticise anything wether it being race tactics, routes or the pleasure I had watching a particular race. Anything seems in stones for you, black/white. It isn't enjoyable anymore to me, something which I really looked forward to in the past.

Riis why stop commenting on the races? If people don't agree with you then they are allowed to put forth an opposing view are they not? If you have a problem with specific posters then ignore them and keep on posting your own views but there is no need to scale back involvement in the discussion

i know. i wrote that but then deleted before posting to not start a fight with Ton1Mart1n

epo made big hulks climb. if ullrich showed up today he would be a classics rider. look at the german entry list for the 1993 amateur worlds he's listed as a sprinter.

How did we go from some admitedly bad sarcasm to name calling in three posts?

I mean, you coud just not read people posts (not directed at Avin, just using his comment). It's pretty easy to just skip over them and carry on your day still being happy. Or just stop for a minute and think "Is it going to be worth the argument", because the answer will probably be No.
