Pretty sure they will be there. What is a better revenge for Russia to win than winning in Ukraine?

A shame Eurovision has become become a place for politics. The parallel to today's Ukraine is too obvious. Should not happen, but there's a reason why we see it more and more in ESC..

Personally I like the song, but if you look at the song and the song only, I highly doubt anyone will see it as winner-potential.

Cant we all agree that 1) spain was the hottest and 2) the most catchy, the 2 most important things, especially number 1

If we had played on Ukraine, we woulda applauded it, we are too transparent, but yes, agree

Voting system definitely worked, despite the UK crashing and burning in spite of what was a good performance, and whatever the f*** happened with Poland.
Australia were praised for their vocals, but no one voted for them because they're Australian, and Europeans have small heads and minds(especially Brits).
Ukraine had a good song- it was the East and the publicity in the West (Stalin! Crimea! It's about her!) however that reality pushed it on.
No clue how they're going to host it.

So many strong songs this year, great show and a song that is driven by politics wins. Very anti-climaxic although Jamala is very talented but this song had no right to win this above the likes of Australia or Bulgaria and more.

Whats next? Serbia entering next year with a song "Bring Back Kosovo"? Please....

As usual, a musically rather underwhelming evening Pfft I liked the Swedish song a lot, the understatement was a very enjoyable contrast to all the pomp and drama. Georgia was good, too, I thought. I would have hoped for both of them to do a bit better.

Other than that, not too much for me there, but we don't watch the ESC for the brillant songs anyway, do we? Grin Germany in last place doesn't come as too much of a surprise, we're just not able to chose the right songs and singers. I thought there were worse performances, but as usual it wasn't striking a chord with the audience.

By far the best part was the break between the songs and the voting. Love Love Peace Peace may be the funniest thing I've seen in a while, plus the comedy bits, it's great to see such self-consciousness and self-irony within an established show like the ESC. The video of Swedish music history was great, too, and well, I just love Justin Timberlake.

Also, just as a thought: The ESC itself was in its creation a political statement of uniting a war-torn Europe. "Ein bisschen Frieden" by Nicole, a wish for peace, was the song with the largest winning margin for a long time. I'm explicitly not judging whether the Ukrainian win was a vote of solidarity, a vote against Russia or maybe not politically motivated at all. But the ESC itself has never been just about the songs.

I hope Poland and Russia can come to agreement before next year to partition Ukraine, we get our lands back in the West and Russia takes the East with Kiev where they can host their Eurovision which they so badly wanted this year.

In opposite to Crimea and Ukraine, it's no general consensus that Kosovo and Serbia belong together, so the chances are pretty small.
