I was there last night, quite exciting, even if I was waving an Aussie flag on the wrong semi-final
Songs here aren't really my type though, Cyprus was my favourite so hoping they do well, and maybe Austria, Iceland and Russia were alright.

WHY on earth did Iceland not make it into the final? And the Netherlands instead? That was horrible! Also Malta should´ve been out and instead Bosnia in. Surprised to see Estonia out as well, it wasn´t my type of song but clearly the best voice in the first semifinal...My favourite is Hungary so far...

Iceland was one of the best so really surprised there, they had a lot of the audience singing along even.
I really didn't like Netherlands but it seemed to be one of the songs getting the most support from the audience...
At least Cyprus is through, easily the best imo.

Surprised Iceland didnt get in. Id personally take out Croatia and put Iceland in. Armenia was the real winner of the night. |

I guess many people saw Iceland because of the performance as a copy of Heroes, some especially dumb even as a copy of Russia |

Nah Iceland was more Euphoria than Heroes, and the message of the song went in a complete different way...that might have been the problem of Iceland, a theme that was slightly too dark...

I predicted the top 10 qualifiers on my twitter before the semi final and I predicted,
Russia
Armenia
Azerbaijan
Austria
Cyprus
Czech Republic
Croatia
Iceland
Malta
Hungary
Shocked that Iceland didnt make it, Would have never thought the Netherlands would, came as a big surprise.

For once, Greece's send-a-rubbish-song-so-we-don't-have-to-host-it-next-year thing worked.

My second semi final qualifiers prediction:
Ukraine
Bulgaria
Serbia
Latvia
Norway
Denmark
Australia
Belgium
Switzerland
Israel
picking that tenth one was tough between Israel and Poland but I think Israel will edge it.

Only two I disagree with are Lithuania and Belarus. Serbia will breeze through, they have a strong song, brilliant singer who has a good personality and is well liked. Belarus has good staging but the his voice is week. Their are stronger songs that Donny Montell's, too much like traditional Eurovision in his choreography.

I think Serbia will be the shock non-qualifier. If Iceland can't qualify, Serbia can't.
I've played this song to non-Eurofans and they've said it was boring and melodramatic, I'm not sure if people will latch onto it compared to Bulgaria and Australia who perform shortly behind them.

Estonia deservedly didnt qualify because his performance was really poor. His voice was cracking a good few times. |

I dunno I think it has what it takes to do well in the final, during rehearsals it looked a bit toned down from the national final so if they keep it like that then I think it will be fine. But I think the artists change their performance as the contest draws closer to keep it fresh which is a big mistake. But I can't understand how Iceland are not in the final. Maybe being in the same semi final as Russia didnt help against the staging element.

So, with the Daily Eurogang back together, I ask this question-
Did the Netherlands sing anything other than 'Slow down, brother...'

Netherlands was a bit boring tbh
Lidia Isac for Moldvoa failed to hit the notes which cost her as she had a decent song and Samra for Azerbaijan was very lucky to make the final despite not hitting any of the high notes which is dissapointing because she is a very good singer with a good song. She has struggled in rehearsals too.
