Super stage, Sam Vandenborre has put himself in perfect situation to get a top position in the GC.

*** Post-race message *** Sam Vandenborre Wow, I rode like an amateur today. I dropped too far back just before Zardini was reeled in. When the pace was upped I got blocked by domestiques who were dropped. I had the legs to keep up, but didn't get the chance to prove it. A podium finish is still possible, but I'll have to ride a very good TT tomorrow.

Sibiu Cycling Tour - stage 4:
The last thing standing between Kennaugh and a new GC win here in Romania is an 11 km time trial. It contains a small climb just after the intermediate point and goes past the famous Ethnographic Museum.
Ben King starts early with a very fast time: exactly 15', being the fastest at both the intermediate point and the finish.
When team mate Küng fails to beat his time, King looks good for the stage win. Especially when Ludvigsson, Moser, Velits and Sütterlin fail to beat his time as well.
Coming at the intermediate points, Sam loses only 3", the 2nd time after King. Can he take those seconds back on the climb?
He gives it his all, but it's not enough. He has to conceed 5 more seconds, finishing in 2nd, 8" down.
Kennaugh loses 9" to King, beating Chamorro by more than 40". That way it looks like the GC win is already his.
Stage 4 results:
1 | | Ben King | BMC Racing Team | 15'00" | 2 | | Sam Vandenborre | Caja Rural - Seguros RGA | + 8" | 3 | | Tobias Ludvigsson | IAM Cycling | + 9" | 4 | | Peter Kennaugh | Team Sky | s.t. | 5 | | Peter Velits | IAM Cycling | + 11" | 6 | | Moreno Moser | Movistar Team | + 12" | 7 | | Stefan Küng | BMC Racing Team | + 13" | 8 | | Jasha Sütterlin | Movistar Team | + 14" | 9 | | Claudio Imhof | IAM Cycling | + 18" | 10 | | Luigi Miletta | Androni Giocattoli - Sidermec | + 20" |
GC after stage 4:
1 | | Peter Kennaugh | Team Sky | 7h47'21" | 2 | | Juan Chamorro | Colombia | + 54" | 3 | | Merhawi Kudus | Torku Seker Spor | + 2'00" | 4 | | Sam Vandenborre | Caja Rural - Seguros RGA | + 3'07" | 5 | | Natnael Berhane | Androni Giocattoli - Sidermec | + 3'21" | 6 | | Peter Velits | IAM Cycling | + 4'56" | 7 | | Gorka Izagirre | Movistar Team | + 4'57" | 8 | | Stefan Denifl | Felbermayr Simplon Wels | + 5'10" | 9 | | Juan Andrés Pardo | Movistar Team | + 5'36" | 10 | | Paul Voss | CULT Energy Pro Cycling | + 6'55" |

Another brilliant stage from Sam, very sad he missed out on stage 3.
But he has definately shown a lot of what he is able to do.

He's certainly shown he loves time trialing, but is able to climb too. Lessons have been learned after that third stage for sure.

So nice breakaway win by Pello Bilbao. Chamorro must be devastated, losing this much on this theoretically easy stage, what a wonderful surprise for Sam.

Bilbao did great, never enjoyed taking a breakaway win this much as normally I try to maintain a pace that is too high for the others instead of attacking myself.
Chamorro may have punctured or fallen, didn't notice. We're not complaining though

PRUEBA VILLAFRANCA - RACE PREVIEW
25/07 | | 163 km from Ordizia to Ordizia | |
| LAST WINNERS: | | FAVOURITES: | | | | TEAM LINEUP: | | Yury Trofimov | | Simon Clarke | | | | Barbero Carlos | | Sergey Chernetskiy | | Alexis Vuillermoz | | | | Bilbao Pello | | Gorka Izagirre | | Esteban Chaves | | | | Fraile Omar | | Daniel Teklehaimanot | | Enrico Gasparotto | | | | Gonçalves José | | Gorka Izagirre | | Moreno Moser | | | | Klever Jonathan | | | | | | | | Mesias Renato | | | | | | | | Parra Heiner | | | | | | | | Zardini Edoardo |
This hilly route should suit all punchers present. Our main guy is Barbero. The smaller the group, the better, as Bilbao and Zardini aren't slow either after a tough race. Gasparotto will be a tough opponent, but we are confident for one of the oldest races in Spain.

| | Alberto Contador | Team Katusha | 164 | 2 | | Nairo Quintana | Movistar Team | 124 | 3 | | Louis Meintjes | Team Sky | 82 |
| | Julian Alaphilippe | Etixx - Quick-step | WIN | 2 | | Louis Meintjes | Team Sky | +00:27 | 3 | | Lawson Craddock | Trek Factory Racing | +09:10 |
A well-deserved first yellow jersey for Nairo Quintana. Saw Contador coming closer and closer with every mountain stage but secured his overall win with a superb performance in the decisive 52km time trial. It's his fourth GT win after 3 wins at the Giro d'Italia. With Bouhanni bringing the green jersey home, Alaphilippe doing the same with the white jersey and Pinot only narrowly missing out on a podium spot, the French have seen a satisfying three week long spectacle.

Jakob did a great job finishing in 6th. You're Danish too, aren't you?
Froome was third until the stage 20 time trail and then he abandoned due to injury / illness.

Ya im Danish, so from a national point of view Jacop is our only hope in the grand tours. Hopefully Michael Valgren can become a future top rider, but he still has a long way to go.
