What a race! Sagan an absolute beast, just riding, not asking to take over, than dropping them. Van Avermaet and Benoot was very unfortunate, I don't want to say anything bad about Sagan, but the race could've looked very different with them.
Cancellara was really strong, but the Cancellara from 5 years ago would've brought back Sagan. Vanmarcke was good, but you need 100% to win and two crashes and a lot of chasing wasn't helping him.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

No not since 2010. Just in 2007, 2009 and 2010.

2009: Doping record Verbier.
2010: Andy was better, but Contadope cheat again. Doping and win 39 sekunder because Andy lost chain. Cheat, cheat.
Since then Contadope lost big in TDF and only 4-5 place.
Contadope-fans and Boonen-fans is alike

Boom got 11th despite 4 punctures... Still could've been worse like GVA and Benoot. Vanmarcke also crashed twice BTW.
Good result for van Baarle. At last a Dutch talent who can actually do something in classics. Instead of a boring 8th or 9th place GC rider.
Sagan is a legend. Winning the Ronde in WC-jersey. Peaked at the right moment and has the last laugh.
A bit sad that this is Cancellara's last performance. Think he could still go at it another year. Boonen looks done. Two of the best classics riders of their generation will be missed. Still Roubaix to come.
Erviti and Claeys WTF. For Dimitri a great way to honor Antoine.

YIIHAAAA! Sagan, beautiful.
Amazing finale. Sagan too strong. Holding off Cance and Vanmarcke like that in a TT after 250 km is a sign of pure class. He's improved since last year and it shows. That jersey is icing on the cake, beautiful moment! |
