Bah La Gazetta
Bah L'Equipe
Bah Het Nieuwsblad
National sports papers are so rubbish.
Isn't there any magazine, newspaper or good site that's not biased about nationality?
Cyclingsnews sounds good, but they get things wrong too often to be trustworthy

Nothing better than being in Italy and reading La Gazetta or in France reading L'Equipe every morning at the pool after a Tour stage. Who cares if its biased, I don't understand 99% anyways! |

Partly due to crashes, but I agree: Demare, Swift and Roelandts is very underwhelming for MSR. Get Le Manie or Pompeina in there. |

Demare, Swift, Roelandts(?) was the strongest in the 295kms. What the hell is wrong with that?
They were actually the best riders not held by crash of Gaviria (and other crashes), to be precise.
That is part of racing though...

Another amazing save by Sagan there, i guess majority of riders would go down there.
And i guess 2nd part shows that he is a bit pissed by Gaviria and his rookie mistake. Or praise his own skills.

Looks like all the rumours about Demare cheating are true :/
Picture found on Polish cycling page:
Apparently on 1,7 km part of Cipressa Demare was 7 s faster than Visconti attacking from peleton, seems legit.
The ride was immediately deleted from Strava (probably automatic upload followed by delete), but somebody took those screenshots.

For the segment highlighted he might have gone 7 seconds faster than Visconti but to put it into perspective he matched Kwiatkowski's time of 2:33 from 2015, which was 1 second faster than Ciolek of 2:34 also in 2015, Greipel also did a 2:34 last year. So yeah he went fast but considering he was chasing back on was it really that fast? Also going 1 second faster than Greipel the year before makes it almost look legitimate.
Also guys Demare hasn't deleted the ride from Strava https://www.strava.com/activities/521...2/overview

Now the part of the ride that does look a bit suspect is the actual time he did on the whole Cipressa on Strava and not just the highlighted segment that posted. This is the part that makes me think he did hang onto a team car for part of the climb https://www.strava.com/segments/62691...er=overall Only 3 seconds faster than Visconti for the whole climb

Well, Cipressa is longer than that no? Demare time of entire Cipressa is 10:02 which is really fast, but 5 seconds faster than Visconti if we consider time registered by this site : https://www.climbing-records.com/searc...-results=5.
I don't think it's insane, considering the fact that he was in cars, and the weather was fine (both times for Poggio and Cipressa are good this year). |

So, he just get helped from the car but it wasn't that big as it doesnt show the ipressa climbed more than 45km/h, which he gets it on one little point(the help).

The only time he hits that speed is near the summit which flattens out so if he was really going for it then that speed makes sense

Visconti also hit 47.9 Kph close to the summit of the Cipressa which is the same spot Demare hits 50.8 Kph. The year before Kwiatkowski topped out at 52.6 at that same spot and Greipel topped out at the same speed as Demare of 50.8.

If you only want fancy names on your palmares list, you're not worthy of hosting a monument.
They should let the race decide the winners and not complain about it afterwards. |

Stybar had a bad day
"I hope that the DOG which I hit in full speed in downhill of Cipressa doesn't have any injuries.."
Can't understand why you would have an unleashed dog around when a pro peloton is coming past

Can you please stop already..this race is over , let's hope better luck for Sagan next time. And don't forget ..probably fastest man himself crashed and you did see him pushed over the line later. This was broken young man..who was in great shape and great place, young rider who made rookie mistake. |

I think it's Fred Guesdon in 1998, Paris-Roubaix. |
