Konig/Team NetApp Endura, Tieubayev/Astana Pro Team, Bennett/Radioshack Leopard and Duran/Efapel Glassdrive went away after twenty kilometres had been raced and have never looked back

IAM Cycling seem to be the only team interested in bringing the break back to within a safe distance

The lead is slowly crumbling

They are about to enter the business end of the race

Riders dropped out of the peleton are now using the rest of the race as a training ride

Attack by Hondo/Radioshack Leopard just as the break was caught

Vini Fantini are in control on the little rise just towards the finish

Quite surprised we got Jack and Daniel in the top ten considering we did nothing for the whole race

First move of the day comes from Kriek/Jelly Belly

He has been trying for a couple of laps now but the pack seem reluctant to let him go

In the end it came to nothing but now we have four riders who could be a problem, they are Clark/Orica GreenEdge, Wyss/BMC Racing, Friedman/Team Optum and Longo Borghini/Cannondale

But once again the pack bring them back quickly

Its Astana who are putting the hurt on at the front

Rosseler/Garmin-Sharp decides to put in a dig as the race draws closer to the finish

Bazayev opens up his attack

And holds on for the victory in Round 1

The guys felt really confident before the start of the race but due to the extremely fast pace they all suffered

With having no fitness at the moment Van Garderen/Team Novo Nordisk decides to stretch his legs in the break along with Pedraza/EPM-UNE, Wills/Chipotle First Solar and Schildge/Jamis Hagens Berman

They are now on the first of three climbs today, Fort Ross Road

Wills is struggling a little bit when the road goes up

Schildge has gone clear on his own

Cannondale and Radioshack have swept the remains of the break and are now in control at the front of the peleton

Craddock/Team Novo Nordisk is using his time trialling strength to lead the team into the last five kilometres

Farrar leads everyone in to the final kilometre

But in a close battle he gets pipped at the line by Vigano/Lampre Merida

That was quite a fruitful day for us today with Tejay in the break, although he is suffering for it now, and Tyler with a strong sprint that nearly got us the win

Todays break contains Hanson/Team Optum, Wyss/BMC Racing, Boivin/Cannondale and Hunt/AirGas

Van Garderen/Team Novo Nordisk has fallen inside the peleton and is struggling to keep in touch

3m 7s for our leaders at the moment

Pedraza/EPM-UNE has decided to come out of the peleton and give chase

The lead has come down to two minutes

Lampre and Belkin seem to be the only teams interested in closing the gap to the breakaway

Wyss is now on his own at the front by 44s from five chasers

The peleton are now within 35s of the leaders

Race Leader Vigano/Lampre Merida is right on his tail

But its the Norweigan Champion Boasson Hagen/Sky Procycling who sprints clear for the stage win
