You know the more things change the more things remain the same.
Valverde is still a class act - always been pretty good early season, likewise Contador who after premeture reports of his demise goes classic on Malhao.
Froome, Nibali. Valv.Piti and Conta all have that confidence boosting early win. All four and probably Quintana are like eons over the rest for me. Movistar, Astana and Sky have raised their fanboys to ultra hard for season to come. Thomas reminds he can fill in the Wiggo type ride for Borgbots.
TvG is like the most Sky like rider to have never ridden for the borgs. Valv attacks and he was just let go, I didn't feel he was ready to go all in. But fair enough it is Ruta del Sol not big time stage race but it is like broken record for the TvG diesal train.
Dutchies and Pole boys get excited about similar also ran types Bouke and Rafa. Poels completely explodes for me which was surprising but not entirely inconsistent. Nothing but following and then Purito trademarked attack in finale from them Majka and Mollema.
Guy I am most excited about breaking through big barrier from last few days is Romian Bardet. He is a very exciting attacking rider for me. Descends like a demon and attacks attacks attacks...
Big day from Contador - he reveals he still has magic acceleration great to see. I just want to see him and Froome go mental at each other with a sprinkling of Quintana once perhaps the Tour can live by that wet dream this year.

Thanks deek for the link. Good victory for Conta, very nice to see him on the expected level after a rather disappointing first mt stage. Malhao is certainly a place where he likes to win. 20 secs on Pinot and Aru is really... something on such a short sweet climb.
I too am quite becomig a fan of Bardet, likely the mountain goat next to Landa I'll be rooting most for in the coming years. Both very attacking riders with great panache.

Strydz, why can't I dislike your dislikes? Its better to have a good Contador than a mediocre Contador in the Tour. World of difference.
Shonak: Are you also on the Bardet-bandwagon? Proud member since 2014.  He is one hell of a aggressive rider. His victories in the Tour, but especially Dauphine were great! |

Poels is such an inconsistent rider. I cannot believe he thinks he can be a GT leader, as muich as I am a fan of him, he really should put that out of his head. |
