Andy will win the Tour
The way he won on Bola del Mundo in the Vuelta gave me the hope. |

#74 Things can only get better
San Sebastian, 21.6.2018
Hola guys,
this is me again writing from my second base in San Sebastian. Over my birthday time I´ve been in Luxembourg and for medical issues in Bad Schwartau, but now I´m back. Damn, 33, I´m feeling my age right now. But it´s better than some years ago, there I felt like 43 (and not in Rebellin mode).
The good news is, I´m back in training. Things look good for starting at the national championships and Le Tour. Bad news is that it took longer than I hoped for. Dauphine was too early for me, so no preperation race than the NCs for Le Tour. A lot of downside for the first stages, where it will be all about limiting my losses and building up a rythm. The upside is that I will come into the race really fresh. Despite all the issues I had lately I´m still going for the win in France!
For the interested guys, Nibali took the Giro once again. Later in his days like I am he seems to concentrate on the maglia rosa and delivers so nicely. Our team couldn´t achieve any decent result, but the Giro should´ve been mine anyway. Willwohl though looks great, he will go for the sprints at Le Tour and I see him as a shot for consistent Top 5s, while Sarda will target white there.
On my next episode I can hopefully talk about racing again, really pumped for the #fightforyellow.
Bis bald, Andy |

#75 Is there some form left?
Augsburg, 29.6.2018
Hey guys,
back on track and as promised with some racing action. My first and only Tour test are the national chmapionships, where I took on both TT and RR.
And, as you might have guessed, I´m not feeling like 25 yet, but there are a few days left to come to that point. On the TT it was just about doing something in racing conditions for Le Tour. And the relatively short NC TT (only 25.7 km) around Augsburg went really well. I finished 10th, down 31 seconds on the winner only.
From our team Gretsch was there with chances, but the odds were good for a battle between TT legend Martin (Desigual) and the new superstar Schachmann (Phonak). Also Kämna and Politt were given outside chances before.
At the end of the day four tenths of a second decided about champion and the beaten one. Tony was up to the task once again to secure his time trial champion for the 1000 time. Second was kind of surprisingly Politt (Etixx), third Schachmann. Patrick came in 7th as our best man.
1 | Tony Martin | Desigual | 28'08 | 2 | Nils Politt | Etixx - Quick-step | s.t. | 3 | Maximilian Schachmann | Phonak | + 5 | 7 | Patrick Gretsch | Bora - Argon 18 | + 26 | 10 | Andy Schleck | Bora - Argon 18 | + 31 |
The hilly road race two days later should´ve been great for me, instead I was an outsider against hills star Herklotz and youngster Butz. By the way it´s already announced that this prospect will ride for Bora next year.
With 27 kms left in the race the original breakaway was caught by the man riding for Nerz and me.A group of 13 was ahead instead, containing main contenders like Nerz, Degenkolb, Herklotz and me, the Bora guys did a fantastic job so far.
But then one by one the opponents attacked, and I stayed behind my guys. Degenkolb, Nerz and Herklotz were all ahead.
The guys dragged me back to Degenkolb, but as only Buchmann was left he slowed down. Why I still don´t know, but he didn´t look too bad. So I had to go for it, chasing Nerz and Herklotz solo. The guys were working together brilliantly, but on the foot of the final hill I caught up to the duo.
So will I come away as national champion? Not this time. I´ve given too much power on the chase, so both guys easy left me behind and fought out the winner. The only thing I could do is watching my former teammate Dom winning this with a huge lunch on the line over Silvio.
Not the first time he scratched something away in a competion with me, I bet we would be a great double-climbers threat together...
1 | Dominik Nerz | Orica-GreenEDGE | 4h30'12 | 2 | Silvio Herklotz | TEAM Touch Africa | s.t. | 3 | Andy Schleck | Bora - Argon 18 | + 43 | 4 | John Degenkolb | Etixx - Quick-step | + 2'24 | 5 | Emanuel Buchmann | Bora - Argon 18 | s.t. | 6 | Bernd Butz | Team Smartstop | + 4'01 |
Now it´s all about Le Tour, prepare for stage-by-stage reports if all goes well!
Bis bald, Andy |

I'm just slowly catching up on this, but I really like it! Interesting premise, and very nice style (and results of course). I'll continue to follow
Oh, and also: Nerz ftw

A bronze medal and a top 10 - good results . Also, a good outing on two different profiles should get the rhythm and form back.

#76 First Tour for a long time
Utrecht, 5.7.2018
Hey guys,
it´s time to start the biggest of the huge ones. The creme de la creme of stage racing. Le Tour. Today I will only come up with a short preview, but right then we´ll start to see some action.
Firstly I can talk about the route. After Kelderman being that strong lately and the biggest favorite for this years edition the tour decided to start in the Netherelands once again. This year will contain the same profile as 2015, which suits me pretty well. The TTT wil hurt me a lot, but there are many mountains to make up for that. And don´t forget the cobbled stage, if I feel good there I will try to hurt the likes of Quintana, Aru and other climbers on the paves.
Our team will start devided in three parts:
The sprint train: Willwohl > Zabel > Haller >Bokeloh > Meisen
The GC team: Schleck > Konrad
The stage hunters: Buchmann & Vakoc
Sadly Sarda injured himself to miss his first Tour, Bokeloh replaced him in the team. That makes our squad a little unbalanced, and if Konrad or Buchmann gets hurt I will be really in trouble, but let´s hope for a good tour. On paper Willy could really compete in the sprints. In terms of betting odds I´m just outside the Top10 for the GC, but that´s at least the goal. To be honest I want to win this thing, despite our team being not that strong to defend a leaders jersey.
Let´s see what the prologue in Utrecht brings us.
Bis bald, Andy |

Stay in touch till the end and attack the leaders on the last mountain stage. No need to defend the jersey then. What say?
All the best

Utrecht, 5.7.2018
Hey guys,
first day of race action is here, the 14.1 km prologue or short time trial, how ever you want to call it. Pan-flat and pretty technical.
Favorites for this day were:
T.Dumoulin, T.Ludvigsson, Durbridge
Jungels, Kwiatkowski, Dowsett
Schachmann, Dennis, Sagan, T.Martin
First lead went to Tejay, but after some time he his time got blown apart by Durbridge. This was a real checkpoint for many riders. Not so for our team, the only guy interested in this was me and I was here to limit my losses.
Just when I started the news came in that Dumoulin was on a good way to take the lead, but there was only one thing to concentrate on: The road.
It felt so good to ramp down the starting point that I somehow forgot to pedal properly. I was really in trouble, around P85 at all checkpoints, and came in on over a minute down on the leader, who was now Tom Dumoulin. Just when I thought he got this Kwiatkowski came in with the forth-last time and was even faster. None of the top riders could scratch taht away from him, so the Pole is the first leader at my Tour comeback. I have the feeling he will stay in yellow for a long time, but in the crucial mountains he might carry a little bit too much weight with him.
1 | Michał Kwiatkowski | Desigual | 17'32 | 2 | Tom Dumoulin | Desigual | + 6 | 3 | Luke Durbridge | Astana Pro Team | + 13 | 4 | Rohan Dennis | Team Cannondale - Garmin | s.t. | 5 | Tobias Ludvigsson | FDJ | + 21 | 6 | Tejay Van Garderen | Bwin | + 28 | 7 | Alex Dowsett | Bwin | + 29 | 8 | Tony Martin | Desigual | + 30 | 9 | Alexandre Geniez | TEAM Touch Africa | + 31 | 10 | Maximilian Schachmann | Phonak | + 33 | 97 | Andy Schleck | Bora - Argon 18 | + 1'28 |
Jerseys go to the couple up the tableau and to Schachmann, who´s currently the best U25 rider. I landed near to the likes of Aru & Nairo, but f.e. Wilco & Tejay already took a minute away from me. The next stages won´t change that as we´re riding flat roads to Zeeland. But maybe I can do something on a windy day. Let´s see tomorrow.
Bis bald, Andy |

Too early to worry about the time gap, when the mountains come Andy will be ready to pounce (hopefully) |

#78 Le Tour 2018: Stage 2
Zeeland, 6.7.2018
Hey guys,
Short update from stage 2: Coquard won on a not too windy day into Zeeland ahead of Theuns and Greipel. I stayed safe in the pack to finish 13th, Willy sadly got boxed out. No contenders lost time. Some additional screenshots.
Bis bald, Andy
I´m sorry for nothing more, but I wrote a big report for this stage, which crashed without a back-up as PCM.daily kicked me out for some reason...Do you want reports for every single stage or only for the most important ones? Please decide between pace and depth |

Pace in my opinion. You can just say who won the stage and that Andy didn't lose time on the flat stages. If something important happens, like Andy losing time or Andy gaining time you can write it detailed.
But I'd prefer detailed reports for important stages. |

I think you should do whatevery you feel like, No reason to write anything you dont want to.
NB: Allways a very good idear to do the writing in word or other program, and then copy paste when it is ready.
