Sneaky. Not a word I'd usually use to describe the Doggy either.
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Stijn Vandenbergh takes the last stage in Valencia. Kinda happy for him, he's a good rider, but winning a race is so hard for him because he lacks acceleration.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Teams like Sky or Quickstep really bug me.
A rider joins and bam. Success.

Don't tell me other teams aren't as "professional".

Sky could even make Betancur win a Grand Tour.

Spoiler
sorry for the random (but luckily small) rant Pfft

EDIT: also this is not at Vandenberghe winning, to be clear Wink just a general thought.

Bentacur ? Easy that lazy boy has lot's of material even without a sky. I am interested that can movistar get him back.

Sky made Wiggins (well part of that was Garmin work) and Thomas climbers..that is much harder task

Qatar applies for WT (and they will get it), making sure all WT teams are there, very nice move by organization Grin

Also the main organizer had big go at Etixx, riders not fulfilling their duties post race etc etc which meant they were not invited this year.

Olympic Gold is still worth something
Strydz is right. Olympic gold is huge!

We're talking Gold on the Track, I don't see why a roadie should throw away a season full of races and possible wins just for the chance at that.

Yeah, but mostly in sports that have nothing better to offer. Road Cycling has multiple events that are more prestigous: Grand Tours, Monuments, WCs..

Depends who you ask of course though.

In cycling (read: to cycling fans) there are more prestigious events. If you ask any old random person on the street, apart from the TDF which Cav obvs isn't going to win, an Olympic gold would probably be bigger to them.

Dunno, I'm a cycling fan and I couldn't care less about medals on the track.

Why not if he wants to? Not everyone can have the same ambitions.

Thats my point. Track cycling hardly interests me, but in the UK, its a big event, Cav is good at it, and from what I've seen of the media there its valued a lot higher than most road cycling events, and probably all but about 3 that Cav actually has a shot at winning.

Bole wins the Italian opening race. He won the sprint of an 11-man group.

Froome wins the last stage and the GC by attacking and winning on the final climb. Kennaugh lost the lead to his own teammate on the last day, but still finished 2nd in GC. A 1-2 for Sky.

Coppel wins the final I.T.T. in Etoile de Bessèges and he takes the GC win.

Like mentioned before, Vandenbergh with a close win over a sprinting peloton. Groenewegen turned out to be the fastest again, but unfortunately there was still a rider ahead. Poels wins the GC which means Sky and Etixx are already racking up wins this early in the season. Both have 8 victories already.

37 wins for WT teams, 16 of those wins come from Etixx and Sky Shock

Well, aside from everything else, they just have good teams. Compare that to IAM, Lampre or FDJ. Who's going to win there?

Did you see the stage? I'm shocked because my granny can sprint faster than Stijn VDB?

Having Dubai in the legs surely helps in Qatar.
Cavendish-Modolo-Guardini on the podium.

Bennett and Kristoff behind them despite having more team mates.

A group of ~15 riders with couple of BMC`s as well ~1:30 ahead of the bigger peloton.

That was a massive win for Coppel. While he never quite lived up to what he could have been, he has always been a rider I like, if only because he spent so long at a lower level.

Damn, QS doesnt participate, I wanted to see more Cav-Kittel duels. Too bad!
Algarve and Andalucia is where it really starts, can't wait.

Avin Wargunnson
Nice win for Cav, could be a solid year for him and his new team.
I'll be back

You should look forward Paris Nice then. First Kittel-Greipel duel with both having solid trains. In Algarve it might be a first impression of those two against each other already.
